Great camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third Canon Rebel EOS. Started out with a T1i, then a T3i. Loved them all, so when it was time to upgrade, I had to have another Canon. I love making photos or the birds at my house, but am in no way a pro. I've been able to get some pretty good photos using the camera's settings (and a four hour local photography class). I love all the different settings and how easy they are to use and understand. The wireless option is a game changer for me. The photo quality is superb and with a good editing software, I think I could do wonders!

Loving It!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered the Canon EOS Rebel T8i earlier this month because I had several events I wanted to photograph. Mind you, I was upgrading from the T5i. What a difference! The T8i is so easy to set. First outing was to a local sunflower farm to practice. Then I took it to a concert, starring Peter Noone, better known as Herman of Herman’s Hermits, and then a dear friend’s, daughter’s wedding. The T8i excelled all year expectations! I shot the wedding using mostly AV setting but loved the Group setting in the scan mode. It kept everyone in the family shots in focus! Very great purchase!

Great Starter Camera
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing starter camera loaded with features! 24mgp is a great start. My only complaint is Auto Focus is lacking only slightly. The battery lasts a long time. Love the preview screen.

A simple and easy to use camera
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I bought this Canon EOS T8i camera, I had been using my Canon M50 and then Canon M50 Mark II most of the time, because they were simple and easy to use. But there were only few lenses available for these cameras, and I could not use my superior L lenses with them. I had bought these L lenses for my Canon 6D years ago, but I became tired of using my 6D because it was very bulky and heavy. To enable myself to use my L lenses as much as I wanted to, I bought this EOS Rebel T8i, which was a little bit bigger and heavier than the M50 Mark II but much smaller and lighter than the 6D. So now I have two very good and small cameras: the M50 Mark II using the lenses that are native to Canon M series cameras, and the Rebel T8i using the superior L lenses. And I love both of these cameras. But since the T8i uses the superior L lenses, the images it produces are a little bit sharper than the images which the M50 Mark II does. Like the M50 Mark II, this T8i camera is very simple and easy to use. It is designed and intended for beginners, but it has also most of the features desired by advanced photographers. Being of recent vintage, it has most of the functions developed and produced by recent technology, such as 4K for video and for still photography.

Canon t8i Great value and features
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome camera. I have been a Canon user for years and have a great collection of lenses that are compatible with this camera. It’s lighter than the other Canon SLRs that I have so it’s easy to carry. The WiFi connectivity is easy to use both on an iPhone, IPad or directly to my computer. No more having to take out the memory card to load or review pictures. I set it up also to be a webcam and the autofocus keeps yo in focus and looking sharp. Great auto exposure settings for quick shots and full easy to use manual mode for more advanced situations. I think this is one of the best cameras I have owned. I have had the camera for about a month and love it.

Great choice for a dying breed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is very good camera but doesn’t feel like the several generational improvement I would have expected jumping from a T5i. I am admittedly still using my several year old take on lens. Pros: light weight without feeling cheap, good grip, good autofocus , excellent color saturation with minimal tweaking , reasonable price Cons: indoor autofocus sometimes indecisive, video is inferior to my iPhone 12. Summary : if you want more than your cell phone for still images but don’t have the budget or interest to step up to full frame cameras , this is a good choice . Given the bottom of the market is owned by cell phone cameras or special purpose point and shoots (waterproof or tough cameras, ultrazooms) , the middle is full of snappily responsive and highly portable mirrorless cameras and the top of the market with full frame cameras is coming down close to the $1000 mark, I Don’t think the venerable APS-C dSLR cameras have a long future .

Great up grade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased as a Christmas present. Like the fact that it's wireless compatible. The only thing I don't like is that none of the batteries purchased for the predecessor, a Rebel EOS T3 won't fit and that seems very much a shame...everything else easily transitions with the exception of rechargeable batteries.

Q: QuestionI have a Tamron 18-270mm Di II that I used on my Canon EOS rebel style. Do you know if it will work on the T8i? The model. Umber is B003 since discontinued from Tamron but a great lens.
Asked by CanonT8i.
- A:Answer It should work just fine as all EF lenses are compatible with all EOS cameras. I’ve owned several versions of the rebel series and all of my lenses going back to my 35mm film Rebel G will work on my T8i. If you still aren’t sure check the lens mount on the front of your camera and match it to the symbol on your lens. Simply remove the lens from your camera by pressing the lens release button and twisting the lens counter-clockwise. If you see a red circle on the lens mount your camera will accept EF lenses. If you see a red circle and a white square it will accept EF-S lenses as well. If you see a white circle it will accept only EF-M lenses. The T8i has both the red circle and white square. Therefore it takes both EF and EF-S lenses.
