So Much to Love About This Movie
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Ewan McGregor is excellent as Christopher Robin who has grown up--he plays childlike playful innocence and the adult office worker who has become too serious equally well. McGregor is an actor who can do it all. I don't know how the Disney team did the special effects for this movie and got the stuffed animal toys to move and sound as if they were real live characters, but they did it quite well and it's all part of the Disney magic. Christopher Robin is for children but the excellent screenplay has also been written for adults--with heartfelt messages for real people who live in the real world. The movie is subtle, warm, engaging, and quite funny. I love all the characters in Christopher Robin (except for the heffalump boss who is a real stick-in-the-mud). I won't give away the plot. What I really want is to become part of the Christopher Robin world with Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, and all the rest. It is a safe world where problems are always solved creatively and happy endings are guaranteed. The story is warm and fuzzy and filled with love--set in 1940s England with great period details.

Great Movie Adaptation of the Classic Stories
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Christopher Robin is grown up and dealing with the problems of adulthood when he encounters his old friends. Disney has done an amazing job of capturing the feel and characters of the A.A. Milne stories. The movie includes lots of details and sayings from the stories. If you read the stories you will love this movie. If you didn't read the stories you can still watch and enjoy the movie. It's a fun and funny movie.

Delightful Family Film
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. When I saw this movie in a theater last year, I enjoyed it very much. I like Ewan McGregor, and he was very good as the grown-up Christopher Robin who is so busy with his job that he's not enjoying his life and his family. The voice actors who portrayed Pooh, Eeyore, and the others did a fine job, especially for those of us who remember the Winnie the Pooh cartoons. I bought the Blu-ray rather than the DVD because it had some extra features that I knew I'd like about the making of the movie. With a movie like this that combines live actors with animated stuffed animals, it's interesting to find out how things were done so effectively. This is a sweet and fun movie. It reminded me a little of those other Disney films about Mary Poppins, who also straightens out fathers who need to lighten up and pay more attention to their children.

A Fun Family Film for All Ages
||Posted .Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.Christopher Robin, the character of the Winnie The Pooh books who entered the Hundred Acre Woods to visit his friends is grown up now, and he's left his childhood friends behind...until life presents a moment in Christopher's life where his friends can help him remember what is important. Ewan MacGregor does a fabulous job as the grown up Christopher Robin, having survived WWII, married with a little daughter, and a stressful job that threatens to tear his marriage and home life apart. The story has all the feel of the original Winnie the Pooh films and cartoons and it is a film well worth watching with family.

Great Film for Pooh Lovers
||Posted .Quick Disclaimer - If you're a German Shiza Enthusiast this isn't the film for you. This Pooh is a lovable bear from my childhood that really tugged on the old heart strings. I originally bought this for a coworkers daughter because of her love for Tigger. My coworker said she had it on repeat for weeks so I wanted to see what all the hype was about. My wife and I broke out the honey and hopped on the couch and by the end we were in tears. This one just hits you in the chest in a way much different than the films from the disclaimer I mentioned earlier. It's a great film with a great message but boy prepare yourself for some waterworks and turkey jerks. Visually they knocked it out of the park. Pooh has never looked so good. Kids will love the characters and adults will enjoy the nostalgia ride. I give it 5 Heffalumps and 3.5 Woozles.
