Cobra - Disappointed with range
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these more for fun than anything, allowing myself and my two kids to each have one around the house and for playing outside etc. There are many factors that can cause interference and range-reduction, but in my experience the range was only about 100 yards with minimal obstruction. It may be an issue only with my units, or perhaps another explanation for greater signal-interference specific to my house/yard, but I ended up returning.

Posted .Christopher, Sorry to hear you were having range issues with your radio. You are correct that many factors will affect range. Range will vary depending on obstructions (to include being inside a house / vehicle), terrain, interference from other users, atmospheric noise, battery level and power output of the radio. If you are still having issues, please contact Cobra customer support at 1-800-543-1608 or online at https://www.cobra.com/pages/contact-us for additional help.

Slick
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as promised. Controls are handy. Two things that I wish were better: The USB charging cord that comes with it splits into two. It would be nice if it split into three. The second thing is that the call beep is WAY louder than the voice coming over air. It would be cool if they were more closely matched. Every time you adjust the volume, there is a beep, gauging the volume level, but it is nowhere near the volume you'll hear a voice.

Just ok
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used this same brand but a different model that I feel was better. However, they don't make them anymore. This one is just ok.

Q: QuestionCan I get 3 packs and have 9 radios all be on the same channel and communicate?
Asked by Taildog.
- A:Answer Yes! The number of radios on the same channel is not limited. You can choose the channel,( up to channel 22) but the range is extremely over rated. At the most the range is maybe one mils.

Q: QuestionHow well do these work in mountainous ranges?
Asked by Brew.
- A:Answer The radio is capable of maximum of 16 miles in line of sight operation under ideal conditions. Range can vary greatly depending on obstructions, like trees, vegetation, and terrain. Range will be greater on a mountaintop, but will be limited within a valley. Communication to the other side of a mountain is greatly limited.
