The Corsair Void V2 is your budget friendly headset that offers a competitive gaming experience on all platforms. While it may seem like it doesn't have much to offer don't let this headset fool you. So first and foremost let me start by saying i fully understand this units price point and it would be unfair to judge against something not in the same category. When reviewing this headset it was done apples against apples. That being said out of the box you get the main unit, USB-C cable and the wireless dongle. The chassis is your typical composite style skeleton with your basic foam padding. No the ear cups are not removable so maintain them well. The mic is your typical flip up/flip down style. One thing to note here was during gaming i noticed there would be times where if i had my mic flipped down from a previous chat session and turned the headset on in that position for a another session the mic would not work at times. I would have to flip the mic up then back down again in order to get it to work. Im not too concerned for this as the unit is updatable via firmware. My honest first impression was "here we go with another painful cheap headset chassis." But i was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable this headset really is. Coming from what i would call a medium size head that i have, hours of run time left very little to almost no discomfort. In fact there times after long gaming sessions i forgot i even had it on. Chat quality is very crystal clear and does a good job at blocking out background noises. Audio quality is a little interesting, and what i mean to that is it seems to very from game to game greatly. Example, playing call of duty left me a bit disappointed when explosions would go off and the drivers would push the bass so hard to hit that tune, that the noise would come in all distorted. Im not expecting this unit to sound like a box office movie but there is currently no option to adjust the equalizer settings. Games like the Medium left me in awe as the sound quality was so crisp i could hear rain drops hitting the floor. Having Dolby Atmos built in led to a deeper immersion as i could hear what direction footsteps where coming from. The headset does link up very easily to the iCue software which will allow you to perform firmware updates, link up lighting effects, and even offers Nvidia Broadcast which filters outgoing noises through your chat mic insure a clean, professional chat session. Keep in mind this is only valid with Nvidia cards. The headset does provide two action buttons with one being below the power button and one being a push in scroll wheel for the volume. At this current time and only button assignment you have access to is the scroll wheel. Battery life, this is where the unit really shines. I have had sooooo many headsets that claim battery life this and that and you never get the claims. This unit claims 65 hours of battery life and i'll just say this, on a full charge after 30 hours of gaming i still have 89% battery life left, so ya im happy in that department. Here's my final thoughts. For a budget friendly headset this is a no brainer. Corsair offers so much for so little. You have a unit that has bluetooth capability so you can connect with anything that can receive a bluetooth signal. You get superb battery life, and while audio quality is not consistent it is very far from being horrible. iCue allows for RGB and mic customization along with easy firmware updates. My only real gripe is the power button. I hate its location and accessibility. Other than that it is hands down the best budget friendly unit i have had the privilege of trying and one that i would buy for sure if im ever in a pinch. The only reason for 4 stars is the current lack of a iCue equalizer.

Since I got back into gaming, I added a gaming laptop to my arsenal when playing on the go. A good pair of headphones is a must, and I have accumulated several headsets in the process. The Corsair Void Wireless v2 Gaming Headset is a welcome addition to my collection and it performed almost as expected. Compared to some headsets I own, the Corsair’s design is low-key yet modern. It’s an all black model made of good quality matte plastics with angular shaped speaker housing rounded at the edges with the shiny Corsair insignia against the matte backdrop. Two RGB slits on the earcups light up when connected and are easily customizable through the iCUE software. The microphone boom has a swivel when not in use, and it has a power and a microphone mute/pause button, and a discreet volume wheel. I’ve worn them for a couple of hours at a time and I have no complaints. The padded headband rests easily on your head and the earpads apply a good but comfortable pressure on your ears without becoming bothersome. The connection can be achieved either via Bluetooth or a 2.4Ghz dongle. The dongle connection was seamless and quick with no noticeable latency especially with games where communication timing is key. I tried it with both computers and a PS5 with much success. My main issue was with the Bluetooth connection which was next to impossible with any mobile devices; I tried with two phones, an iPad, a Pixel tablet and none would stay connected for more than mere seconds. The connection was successful with both my PC and gaming laptop and was stable. There was a bit of latency which is to be expected for a Bluetooth connection but it was minimal. I really like the sound of these headsets. The bass is tight and solid and the highs are clear with good midrange. Corsair’s iCUE software can be used to enhance the sound and the RGB color spectrum and effects. These headphones are Dolby Atmos spatial audio capable and it is surprisingly accurate while playing games. The microphone works well while playing games according to other players, with clear and good volume. It automatically shuts off when in the upward position. I was not expecting such a good performance. And speaking of performance, Corsair claims 65 hours of battery life; I have not tested it but after playing a total of 10 hours during the weekend, the battery charge is still at over 80%. One thing I didn’t care much about was the RGB lighting which, in my opinion, is not bright enough and a bit pedestrian compared to other gaming headsets. In conclusion, I give the Corsair Void Wireless v2 gaming headset a passing grade. It excels where it counts with outstanding sound, perfect for all types of games, and great comfort. It has a stealthy vibe with modern looks and good quality build. My only gripe was the issues with Bluetooth connectivity, but the dongle is the way to go for gaming. Another good product by Corsair.

Let’s keep this short and sweet. This is my first pair of Corsair headphones. I usually use ones from either Hyper X or Razer, but I decided to give the Void V2 a try. Inside the box comes the headphones (USB C powered), a USB Wireless Receiver, a charging cable, and the usual paperwork. The Void V2 promises to give you access to all the immersive chaos and sensory experience that comes from your game audio while providing sustained comfort and wireless freedom. But is this what I’ve experienced? Let’s find out below. The Void V2 has a stylish gamer design that fits its purpose. The V2’s appears to be built from a durable plastic material that makes it feel lightweight but also solid in the hand at the same time. The ear cushions are made from a breathable cloth-like material that is also present on the center of the wide headband. Over my daily hours of use, the Void V2 was quite comfortable, at no time did I feel like I was wearing a clamp on my head, like I’ve experienced with other headphones. I also like that both ear cups can be turned so that you can lay them flat against a table or desk. The left earphone houses all the controls ( on/off button, custom button, volume control) and also has the USB C charge port and the non-removable mic. When it comes to audio performance, this is where the Void V2 starts to muscle up, with its custom-tuned 50mm drivers delivering a layered audio experience you need to perform your best in your games, competitive or not. I played various games across my PC and PS5, such as Call of Duty, The Finals, and God of War, and I could hear every footstep, every gunshot, or throwable that headed in my direction/ whizzed pass my ear, enhancing my overall immersion. I was very impressed with the audio from the Void V2’s even before I tuned it via the Tempest 3D audio on my PS5, where I could utilize the presets already available or personalize one to my liking. You could also access Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio through the Dolby Access app on your computer, but I didn’t get around to tinkering with that or the iCue software. Additionally, the omnidirectional mic worked well. From my recordings and conversations with friends, my audio comes through clearly, and background noises were rarely ever picked up. The mic also had a flip to mute feature, which is always appreciated. I’m happy to report that the Void V2 shines when it comes to connectivity. It has both a 2.4Ghz ( via the USB C dongle) and Bluetooth wireless connection. At no point while gaming/chatting in the general vicinity of my PC or PS5 did I suffer any audio quirks or drops. I was also impressed by how quickly it could switch between the connectivity type(and thereby the audio source) once I pressed the custom button found below the on/off button. Batterywise, the Void V2 is a champ, with it still having juice after a full week of mixed usage but mainly daily gaming sessions of 4+ hours. Corsair claims up to 70 hours of battery life with 15 mins of charging providing up to 6 hours of juice. I think I’ve clocked in at least 50 hours, and it’s still going, so I don’t doubt it can make it close to that 70 hours. The Corsair Void Wireless V2 is an attractive and appealing gamer focused headset that prioritizes immersive sounds, wireless flexibility, and comfort. This overall package is very hard to beat at this price, and I recommend it to both new and long time gamers.
