It's a Hideo Kojima game.
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Pros mentioned:Design, GameplayCons mentioned:BoringHideo Kojima is rarity in the world of high-budget video game production. He’s an auteur. The Metal Gear Solid games are all branded “A Hideo Kojima Game”. He has a certain sensibility, but there has also always been a sense in his games that he’s been held back. That was before he left Konami and formed his own independent studio, Kojima Productions, which just released its first game - Death Stranding. Describing this game is a challenge. The core gameplay loop is pretty simple. You play as a courier, and you have to walk from point A to point B without falling and damaging your cargo too much. There are hazards - rough terrain, bandits out to steal your cargo, and other enemies. It’s more challenging than it sounds, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t at times tedious. The real draw here, as it has been for me with Kojima’s other games, is the story. Death Stranding tells you both too much and not enough about the world the game takes place in. The first few hours of the game have only about half an hour of actual gameplay, with the rest of the time spent showing you the post-apocalyptic America that you’ll traverse throughout the game. When I bought my copy of Death Stranding, the cashier said that he had sold the game to two other people that day, and that neither one of them could tell him what the game was about. I told him, “I’ll be surprised if any of us can tell you what it’s about after we’ve finished it.” I stand by that. When you buy Call of Duty 16, or Madden 2020, you know exactly what you’re getting. What you get in Death Stranding is something you don’t get in many high profile games - something different. Something new. It’s weird. It’s kinda boring. It’s borderline nonsense. But it’s beautiful. It knows what it is and isn’t afraid to be just that. And that’s what keeps me playing.

4 hours in...still waiting to be amazed
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Design, FunI’ve been playing for a few hours now and have been enjoying the game so far. I have high expectations for the game because I’ve been a huge Metal Gear Solid fan and can see some similarities in game design however the game play is very different. There is a lot of cutscenes that are very enjoyable and lots of walking in mountainous terrains. I’m still undecided on how I feel about the game so far but I think I’ll like it. This is a very unique game.

More Than a UPS Simulator
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Pros mentioned:FunIf you are looking for a big budget game that is not like much else you’ve played and is not afraid to do totally wild things, then this is the game for you. It’s heavy on simulation, but navigating the environment is very fun and the game looks gorgeous. I love it.

An experience. You either get it or you don’t.
|Posted .Owned for 6 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendDefinitely a unique experience. Lots of terrain traversal and delivering goods back and forth. Strange and unique characters and story that only Kojima can conjure up. The idea is that this game parallels our current world and society. We are increasingly becoming more isolated and losing important real life relationships and experiences. Your character Sam is trying to reconnect everything. The more selfless acts you put into the world (building roads, delivering goods, creating ziplines etc.) the more you will see appear in your world from other players, helping you traverse it easier. It is not an extremely exciting game, rather a reflective experience. There are scavenger human enemies and beings from the stranding side, along with bosses and evil characters. When you reach the top of a beautiful mountain and look down over the Icelandic plains, and the trance like soundtrack is playing, it can trigger really reflective personal moments. A very interpretive game. If I was a kid, teen, or in my 20s i would probably abandon this game quickly. If your someone who is a little older and has watched society change and become increasingly isolated due to the internet, there is a deep emotional experience on offer here. Running packages is tedious but becomes easy when you become integrated with other players and help eachother out. You will either love or hate this game, very interpretive. Wasnt the most exciting game but very appreciative of the message and teaching Kojima had on offer. Proud to have understood it. Affected me.

The return of A Hideo Kojima Game
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendA round of applause for Kojima and his staff at KojiPro. After the breakup with Konami, Kojima was able to make DS with the help of Sony. The game starts off slow and you're figuring out how the game works, but as you keeping playing, the genius of Kojima starts to make sense as usual. Btw, delivering packages is addicting. Congrats to Kojima and his staff on their 1st game without Konami. Can't wait for the next game.
Q: QuestionIs anyone aware if the preorder gold armor bonuses will be available to those who buy the game after release date, within the game? I know you have to earn the bonuses in game, which is why I'm having such a hard time finding an answer to this anywhere.
Asked by dorkpixixie23.
- A:Answer usually preorder bonuses are exclusive to those that preorder the game and are unobtainable by any other means. one of three things can happen: it could be possible that the gold bonus items could be earn-able after the release of the game-- however they will not be gold, not have the same item descriptions, and/or not have the same stats. OR they could be still earn-able in game, but again, not in gold, and have no stats whatsoever (aka purely cosmetic). or worse-case-scenario: these items, gold or not, won't be available at all if not preordered. (which is usually the case) it could go either way.

Q: QuestionHey is it worth to preorder the game based on that sticker, or should i just wait?
Asked by Grandies1.
- A:Answer If you are excited to have it pre order it, if you are not then buy it whenever. Asking others if a sticker is worth it to you is silly, ask yourself that question and act on your answer.
