Nice basic touch monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The monitor is of nice size and the touch works smoothly with Windows 8.1. However, the LCD panel is vertical alignment (VA) rather than a IPS panel as in the 23 inch version or the Acer 23 inch. The VA panel allows for accurate colors; however, the panel is not as bright as the Acer and the graphics/texts are not as colorful/crisp compared to IPS panels. In addition, this monitor does not have USB ports built in as does the 23 inch version or the 23 inch Acer. The thing going for this monitor is simply the size and it does appear well built (casing and metal stand). It is also wall mountable (the stand is removable); the 23 inch version and the Acer are also wall mountable.

Great image with good features.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung 21.5" LED is a very clear and responsive touch screen. Extremely easy set up. A few simply clicks and you're off and running. Virtually plug and play.) Quick start up and has a cool clear display. Small print is very legible. The screen doesn't show dust or smudges. Good value for the price.

Perfect Touch Screen Monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After upgrading my PC to Windows 8, I realized that I needed a touch-screen monitor to fully utilize the new OS. While I think Windows 8 needs some work, this monitor makes it easier to use. The screen is very responsive to touch and I haven't had any issues yet after my first month of use. The monitor angle is easy to adjust for ideal viewing and use. Like most monitors today, they do not have built-in speakers so you'll need a set.

Perfect for my CNC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Frankly I don't really like W8. However my CNC machine runs its software side on a W8 machine. With that in mind, I thought why not try a touch screen monitor? This is a really nice monitor. Too nice for my CNC actually, but it makes running my machine easier than using a mouse most of the time. I still use a mouse and cannot fathom using a touch screen to run a computer most of the time. But for my purposes, this thing is great. I hang it on an Ergotron arm and push it around, it is easy to see (except for some glare) and big enough for my purposes. I cannot see using a computer the way I typically use one with a touch screen monitor, but if you don't need precision and the screen is in your face, or you are on your feet, it is perfect. The monitor itself is very nice as are all the Dell monitors I own. I prefer the Ultrasharps for desktop work, but this one does exactly what I wanted and it was priced right. As I said, I took the funky aluminum stand off and mounted mine on an Ergotron articulating arm. I pull it right up to where I am standing and leave the mouse and keyboard behind when I don't need them.

Love the touch screen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my touch screen. I have it hooked up to my surface pro 3 docking station and it makes everything better. So easy to see when everything is bigger and the touch screen is so easy to use. Great clear picture. Wouldn't want to go back to a touchless again.

I Love My Touch Desktop Monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my touch screen because it gives me the flexibility of being able to make my desktop PC have similar features of a touch screen laptop. I love the clarity of this monitor and even though it's only a 21.5" monitor, the touch feature allows the option of making everything on the screen much larger. Great and SHARP picture. The sleekness look is a plus as well.

Q: Questionwill it work with a non-touch equiped laptop? Will this touch screen function if I use it with a standard laptop that does not have a touch screen? The laptop has windows 7.
Asked by rrich.
- A:Answer Yes it will work. The touch feature works with a usb cable that goes to your laptop. If you are planning to use it as a screen extension the touch won't work. The touch features will work on your main screen only

Q: Questiondose it work on mac pro???hi i just got a mac pro but i did not get a monitor for it can i use this monitor for my mac pro (not macbook pro) i know that the touch wont work on mac but other than that will it display and work ok ?? and if if dose work do i need a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter to connect it on the mac pro???
Asked by blue.
- A:Answer Hello, Thank you for your interest in the S2240T monitor! I see no reason why this monitor would not work with your Mac Pro computer. Monitor connections all use the same standards of technology, so they will work with any computer. Naturally, Dell does not guarantee that every feature and function of the monitor will work flawlessly. I recommend using the DVI-I if you can, since it gives a perfect digital picture vs VGA. Hope this helps! JonathanNforDell

Q: QuestionTouch doesn't work with HDMI, monitor doesn't work with USBI bought this to add to my Dell inspiron Windows 8.1 touch laptop so I could have a larger touch interface. If I plug it in with the HDMI it serves as a normal second monitor without touch function. When I try to use the USB cable the monitor is never detected by the computer. It does initially do the "installing device" window but nothing happens. The CD that came with the monitor only detects the monitor when it's connected by HDMI. I was told this would work with a touch laptop but it isn't. Really dissapointed.

- A:Answer You have to connect both at the same time. The HDMI is to mirror your screen, while the USB is for touch.

Q: QuestionConnectionCan I daisy chain 3 of these or connect 3 in some way to one laptop and have 3 different things on a screen or divide it up
Asked by Avjr1974.
- A:Answer Hello, Thank you for your interest in the S2240T 21.5" touchscreen monitor! As it turns out, the only current way to "chain" monitors is by using DisplayPort v1.2 (or Thunderbolt) connections between the monitors. Also, the monitors have to have two DP or Thunderbolt ports on each, in order to allow for chaining. This is not currently a very viable option but will become more commonplace when the next few generation's monitors come out. This monitor does not have DP or Thunderbolt ports. Most laptops have two video out ports, which allow for two external displays or one external display + the laptop screen. I do not believe any laptop Dell makes supports three monitors at this time. Hope this helps! JonathanNforDell

Q: QuestionCapabilities? Can this be used on split screen setting with windows 7 pro?
Asked by chiro.
- A:Answer Hello, Thank you for your interest in the S2240T touch-enabled monitor. Yes, the Windows 7 split-screen feature is a feature of the Windows software and the hardware (monitor) in this case does not matter. You control the windows layout by using the Windows Key + the Up, Down, Left, or Right arrows on the keyboard. Hope this helps! JonathanNforDell

Q: QuestionWill the touch feature work with a NVR?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The monitor can be used to connect with an NVR for viewing if your NVR has HDMI output. However, touch capability not only requires a touch capable monitor but an operating system that supports touch. I doubt of the system in an NVR supports touch, but you can check with the manufacturer, etc.

Q: Questionwill touch functions work on a macCan I use this as a touch monitor on a mac running OSX 10.8.3 without a driver? If it requires a driver, is that awful touch-base driver?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Only as a monitor but not for touch capability. Touch requires not only a touch capable monitor but also an operating system that supports touch and currently Mac OS X does not.
