A: This has different platinum suite than the 7200. This one is more watered down, and requires professional installer tools and equipment to access the full suite of calibration features. This unit is also 4 years newer than the 7200. Personally most people (including myself) don't have the ability to hear the actual difference between the units, with technical scientific equipment there is absolutely a different and the 7200 has superior sound. However from a functional point of view the 6300 with 11 channel amplification built in is a huge boost over the 7200 and chances are your hearing and speakers probably aren't good enough to tell the difference. The biggest factor that is universal regardless of personal preference is delay, you wants the sound from the speakers to reach your ear at exactly the same time, while most people have a hard time perceiving milliseconds, you can actually tell if something is off within more than about 25 milliseconds. The system is able to tell how far away the speakers are based upon how long the sound wave takes to arrive at the microphone (supposed to be placed in listening position) or your ear, and adjusts the delay time so that all different speakers sound waves arrive at your ear within 5 milliseconds of when they're supposed to. This of course is all about cinematic audio, if you wanted true audiophile sound, you obviously would not be using an AVR product, but for the average person who appreciates high quality sound for music and TOP NOTCH cinema sound than this is a great unit, and the $2200 price is modest for a top end performing product. It's not true audiophile, but no surround system is true audiophile.
Q: Hi, I was wondering if this unit was capable of controlling 4 zones
A: No only 3 zones with this product. Zones 2 and 3 only support stereo, zone 2 can handle stereo and video (if desired) and zone 3 is stereo only. You can have 7.2 in zone 1 and stereo in both zones 2 and 3, if you run 5.2 you'll have 2 channels sitting idle if you're utilizing all 3 zones
A: multi room wireless speakers. They use wifi and avoid the need to run wires back to the receiver and have surprising sound quality for something that is wireless. It is great if you don't have the means to run physical wire to each speaker location (or just want to keep your wife happy by hot having another wiring project). You must use Denon HEOS speakers and they have various sizes to choose from depending on what you are looking to achieve and what quality of sound you want.
