Two decades ago, a film directed by Paul Schraeder and starring Nic Cage would have been a must-see. Sadly, Dying of the Light is not that. Cage plays a agent, suffering from the early signs of dementia, who uncovers evidence that a terrorist believed dead for years is in fact alive. Cage's character decides to go after him, despite the fact that the powers-that-be are trying to forcibly retire him, and the story goes on from there. What should be a tight spy thriller unfortunately plays out like a slightly better than average made-for-TV movie. A shame for a director and actor that have done much better work.

This movie was a blind buy for me, I've never heard anything about it or saw the previews. I bought it because I like Nick Cage, I'm very disappointed in it. The story was slow and bland, action was too far in between. It has no substance I wanted more and was let down. I think his good days are behind him now, its sad because I really like most of his movies. This should be a rental if you really need to see it.

Nicolas Cage rarely gives a bad performance, and he did not stray from that path in this film. Without giving away the plot line, we have all been in that situation where we know we are right, but we can't make it stick. That has to appeal to far too many players in what we call the real world. The lingering question remains, "What would you do?"

This is another overacting job by the master at his best. Half way through it, I lost interest. Note to Cage, stick to trying to get National Treasure 3 done because if you are going to play the same character in every film you do, why not do the film that character was intended for.

Nicholas Cage, as CIA Agent Evan Lake, diagnosed with early dementia, decides to pursue a former enemy before his disease takes full hold. That's about it for a story that wasn't put together very well. The premise is somewhat original and the acting isn't bad.

I did not expect much from this movie as I have never heard of it before just browsing the store. Cage can be a decent actor at times but he can also be cast in some pretty awful films. The movie is entertaining as long as your expectations are reasonable.

Nicolas Cage plays a CIA agent who discovers that an old adversary is still alive. Although ordered to retire he sets out to find and kill this adversary with the aid of his young protege. What ensues is a very interesting and suspenseful movie.

This movie was pretty decent. Nicolas Cage has been in a rut since his 90's action heyday. But recent roles like this show that he is still capable of doing good work. A decent watch for some downtime.
