Outstanding machine, great workouts!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an outstanding, well-built rowing machine. Best Buy's price was unbeatable when I bought it. The machine was very easy to put together and is extremely sturdy and smooth. I love the device holder that allows for various devices to be used to do the instructor-led workouts (if one choose to use those from Echelon). Where I already own an Echelon excercise bike and have a FitPass membership, the decision to go with this rowing machine was a no-brainer as the membership allows me to get more from the membership from bike workouts, rowing machine workouts, and general stretching and strengthening workouts. I also think Echelon's decision to put the resistance buttons onto the bar was a briliant move that prevents one from the need to throw off a workout with a need to reach forward to turn a knob!

Love my Echelon rower!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my rower for about a year now. It was easy to setup and delivers a super smooth and quiet ride. The Echelon rower is a heavy stable machine that provides a great workout. The only drawback is that you have to connect to an ipad or other smart device to use the app to see your stats while working out. However, once you set up the app, you also have access to other types of workout classes too. I am happy with my purchase and have recommended this rower to friends.

Great purchase, very pleased!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great purchase. First of all, the product itself is smartly designed and beautifully engineered, it really feels solid and durable. It works beautifully. Although you don't need to purchase the subscription, the guidance on the workouts really helps to set your pace and avoid overdoing it, which is surprisingly easy to do! Love it!

Love this! And no, you dont need a subscription!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought some other rower that was $200 cheaper through BestBuy, and it was JUNK. I have an Echelon bike, and I love it, so I bought this rower. As expected, the quality was very high! The gauge of the steel is durable, and the screw holes all line up when assembling. What a concept! Assembly was minimal and well documented. And best of all, it works great. Some people say you have to have an Echelon subscription, thats not true. You have 3 options: 1)No subscription or device at all. You dont even need to attach a phone to it. Just turn the rower on, and the resistance controls work fine. You wont get stats, but the rower works. 2)Attach a phone with the app, but just use the free freestyle option. It shows you the stats of the rower. 3)Subscribe to Echelon, and then your phone will put you in an online rowing class.

No Sound, No Solution, Poor Service, Expensive.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The physical machine (Row S) is good to excellent but the software is a nightmare of problems and service is very weak to poor. The Rower (and I assume all Echelon products) are useless without the software which is extremely expensive. After purchasing the Rower with a 1 year subscription, it took almost 2 months and numerous calls to CS to get the software working. Apparently a common problem with Echelon. In about July/August 2024 (possibly due to a software upgrade by Echelon, the software again disappeared. After 5 calls and emails with CS, I gave up. Started again 2 ½ weeks ago to get it going. Video now up but no sound. Back and forth almost daily by phone with several agents and email with one agent who seems to be trying but no solution. A decent company would have long ago offered a permanent solution. To make matters worth, they will not stop and refund my considerable membership fee!

$40.00 /mo for basic strokes/rpm/level info
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The rower itself is superior to nordictrak but only has two buttons to increase/decrease difficulty. The only way to see strokes, distance, etc is to pay for a app that is half as good as nordictraks. Also a extremely shady business practice of having a option of 11.99 a month BUT the link is dead. So your forced to pay 40.00 a month for subpar content.

Quality Build
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is much sturdier than I thought it would be, especially for the price. You can use the freeride mode without a subscription (Thank goodness). It also does not need a screen to change resistances, but you will need to use a tablet (or phone), if you want to use some of the deeper functions (but not required). The resistance options could be higher, but still not bad.

Q: QuestionI want to purchase the Echelon Rower, but I do not want to purchase the membership. I can’t justify $40/month on top of my gym membership and other monthly subscriptions. I would like to just use the rower and see my output and metrics. Is there a way?
Asked by Dazzo25.
- A:Answer Nope. Subscription required, they lock the screen. You can go into more freestyle to get resistance but the metrics dont work and the screen locks up. Shady shady product. Id love to send mine back to the creator through his window.

Q: QuestionWhat information will the rower display without a subscription? Meters? Stroke/Min? Cals? what functionality does this rower have without a subscription?
Asked by MattMan.
- A:Answer From your phone or tablet, you can use the EchelonFit app without a subscription. From the freestyle mode, it will display stroke rate, distance, speed, calories, resistance, total output, and current output (average and best).

Q: QuestionIs there a way to increase the tension for your legs?
Asked by Jojo.
- A:Answer For the Rower we just have the ability to increase the tension to the bands for your arms.
Answered by BestBuy
Q: QuestionDoes this rower come with a tablet? If not what size tablet fits the holder?
Asked by FonT.
- A:Answer The model I purchased did not come with a screen, and Echelon does make a model with a 22-inch screen. I have used both my phone and a 10-inch tablet, and I would have preferred the 22-inch screen, but it made more sense for me based on the difference in price to buy a larger tablet and use it for more than Echelon.

Q: QuestionWill this product handle a man 300 plus safety
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The recommended weight limit for the Echelon Row is 300 pounds.

Q: QuestionHow quiet is this rower? Can you use it in the same room with someone watching TV and not disturb them?
Asked by bbdvd.
- A:Answer Yes. I think it is more than quiet enough to have a TV on.
