Doesn't Hold Up But Garner Is Great
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I saw this movie at a free preview screening back in 2005. I wasn't expecting much because comic book movies are usually disappointing, but this one was actually good. The special effects and action sequences were well done and didn't look over-the-top. The cinematography was beautiful and the colors almost seemed alive, they were so vibrant. I don't see many movies where the colors make that much of an impact. I didn't find the dialogue corny or forced. There was only one moment where the audience laughed "inappropriately," and that was at a character's name. The acting was excellent, in my opinion. Jennifer Garner and Goran Visnjic have a natural rapport and Kirsten Prout was very impressive. I hadn't seen her in anything previously. All three of them did a good job of giving these characters some depth and making you care about them, which can sometimes be hard in this type of movie. The villains were, for the most part, subtle and not in your face, as with many movies of this genre. Overall, I liked this movie and recommend it to anyone who likes a good action movie with non-cardboard characters. In addition to the action, there is drama, romance (but not too much), elements of sci-fi and a few laughs

Typical and Predictable Movie but Well Done
||Posted .Hot chick in tight clothes. Yup, that sells. So, does Elektra work in spite of that? I think so. I loved the action and thought Jennifer Garner did a decent job in the role. In fact, I think her time in Alias helped to fill the bill. As a movie, this is a typical plot we've seen time and time again. Good vs. Bad, "I'm retired" only to take "one more assignment". Barring all that and knowing it's really a predictable movie, it WAS good. It wasn't fantastic but it was a strong flick that's worth seeing more than once.

Much better than most people think
||Posted .Jennifer Garner is stunning as Elektra, and so is Kirsten Prout who plays a very well done Abby Miller. You have to have an imagination to watch this film, because everything is exaggerated when compared to reality, like Elektra getting kicked in the face and flying through the air for about 20 feet. The CGI is simplistic compared to Spider-man and Daredevil, but i think that is why it is so good. Because it gives the movie a very comicbook look.

||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. Its an oddly haunting movie when i first watched it i was like, eh, but I’ve watched it quite a few times after. My name isn’t Electra but in my head i tell myself, “come on, push push push!”

Good followup to DareDevil
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. Not a great movie, but still good and enjoyable to watch. The director's cut, while numerous in the differences with the theatrical version, doesn't offer anything too drastic or worthwhile.

Jennifer Garner is amazing, movie is not
||Posted .Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.I still have this only because Jennifer garner is cute, Smart, and a good action hero that can kick butt. But three stars because the movie kinda sucked. Daredevil the PG-13 version was better. I would give it three and a half stars because Ben affleck is not a good actor in my book, he ruined Batman.
