Q: Do the motorized screens require plug-in power or are they battery-driven?
A: Plug in power
A: You can stop it anywhere while its lowering and raising. The only issue I have with this is that the range on the remote is VERY limited. Pretty much straight line out from the IR Sensor so good luck stopping it exactly where you want it. I bought an extension cable for the included controls (not the remote control) and mounted that on the wall next to where I would typically be viewing from.

A: Looking at the screen, the cord is on the left. Yes you can have a wired switch. The casing is black.

A: as long as it is protected from water should be ok
