Almost meets expectations
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first projector and at $799 (sale price), this is on par with other smart projectors such as the BenQ TH685i. Overall, this projector makes me wish I had a 4K version instead. This is a true native 1080p projector which can process a 4K signal, it just outputs in 1080p. Also, this is a 3D capable projector with the right 3D glasses. Setup: Right out of the box, this projector was very easy to setup if you have any familiarity with setting up apps. It weighs about 8 lbs, so not that heavy. Build quality seems to be okay for being made out of primarily plastic. This projector is running Android TV version 9 and once you connect to WiFi, there is an update to install. I was able to quickly log into my apps such as YouTube, Disney+, ESPN and Hulu without issue. After dialing in the picture settings to get everything looking as best as it could, the entire process took about an hour from unboxing to initial setup. Likes: The overall footprint (size) seems to be on the smaller side compared to other projectors I have seen. Having genuine built-in Android TV is great. There are plenty of “Smart” projectors on the market with non-native versions of Android which can cause problems with Apps if those operating systems are not approved by popular Apps such as Netflix or Disney+. Epson made the right choice by going with genuine Android TV. The brightness is rated at 2700 lumens and I feel this has been bright enough for my purposes of having a projector in the bedroom. You can seem my pictures where I show the image in different lighting. Dislikes: The fan noise on eco mode is barely noticeable, but once you change the setting to bright or dynamic, it gets pretty loud. Also, this produces some heat. This might be expected from all projectors, I just didn’t know it would put out this much hot air. This projector doesn’t have ARC. Your audio choices are limited which are the mono 10 watt speaker, Bluetooth, or Auxiliary. Lastly, out of the box, this projector has a dead or stuck pixel in the far left side (see picture) and it makes some sort of grinding noises best way to describe it. This being my first projector, I have no clue what that noise could be. Oh by the way: The mono speaker in our bedroom setting is okay, but in our living room it was definitely too weak. We had to connect an external speaker to the Aux cable. The 1080p picture is noticeable, at least to me. If I had the funds or opportunity to compare a 4K projector, I feel the 4K picture would likely be more “crisp”. For my first projector, this almost met all my expectations.

Flawless setup and very bright picture
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quick Pros -Easy -Long list of popular apps -Built in chromecast (if you don't want to sign in the apps) -advertised as Android projector but also easy to use with iphone -Adjustable size and focus -Very bright -Price (Not pricey compared to HD projectors and still amazing quality) Setup: I didn't even have to open the instructions. Just followed the prompts. It looks like it's more geared to Android but I had no issues connecting with my iphone. Quick setup and very easy to adjust size and focus. There is a long list of popular apps you can sign into. I've had issues with other projectors having limited options and even then not always letting you sign in easily. If you don't have time to sign in or maybe your friend has it on their phone, the Chromecast is also really quick and easy to use. Brightness: I took pictures. They don't do it justice because they're a little blurry but just want to give you an idea of how bright it is. Most projectors are good at night. The question is if you can use it with some light. This is a picture of it with a window completely open across from the wall I'm projecting on and midday. The wall is also partially painted white and some brown. The scene is also lighter. Just wanted to show even with all that, you can still easily see the picture. It's impressive how bright it is and much better when curtains are closed and after the wall was completely painted.

No looking back
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I was amazed how easy the set up was. The only issue that was challenging was finding the HDMI input which was hidden behind a magnetized panel on the rear. The built in google OS was easy to log into after I got the wifi working. I was able to download YouTube TV and Prime Video which are my two main services so was all happy there. I had a roku hdmi insert ready but there was simply no need. I have been extremely pleased with my decision to buy this. Not a full five stars because nothing is perfect in life.

Great purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great projector for home theater! Kids and cat love it. Have it displaying at over 100" and is very bright and clear. Connects easily to bluetooth speakers and the built in speaker is also surprisingly loud! It's easy to connect to WiFi and directly stream from Disney+, Netflix, Youtube etc, or connect with smartphone via Chromecast. If you're familiar with Android software then navigation is a breeze.

Finally got a projector, and this one is worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This projector is great. At first i was worried about getting a 1080p projector, but this thing is sharp! Great adjustment features, and android tv works perfectly. It is nice having a fast service like android tv already on the projector. The only complaint is that I wish it had more ports. Other then that I really like it!

Movie Night
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to enjoy movie night with my Family. The image is very clear. Did not loose any quality compared to our UHD 4K TV. At the moment we are just using the wall as a screen and are very impressed. Paired it with an LG sound bar and sub woofer and it really feels as if we are in a theater. Extremely satisfied with this product.

First projector & love it!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My very first projector. Easy and fast to set up. I love the different options you have with android tv and pairing with Bluetooth. I love the crisp sound speaker and crisp picture quality. The fan is not loud at all compared to others. Everything went smoothly. No lagging. Love how it came with two controllers. It’s not convenient but two is better then one.

Q: QuestionI bought an epson 2250. At first the projectors sound volume was good when using the apps on android tv. But then the 2nd time I used the projector the apps went almost silent and I had only extremely low volume from the projector using the androidtv apps
Asked by Bill.
- A:Answer Somehow the "Android" volume gets turned way down. And this is a different volume setting from the primary "Epson" sound setting. I had the same problem. SOLUTION: Use "Google Assistant" on the remote, and say "Set Max Volume", this will turn the "Android" volume all the way up, then all you have to do is adjust the main (Epson) volume using the remote keys. Also make certain Google assistant is enabled by clicking "APPS" on the remote, and then clicking tools -> apps -> Google assistant, and click to enable. THIS IS A BEST IN CLASS PROJECTOR!!! BEAUTIFUL. ACCURATE, BRIGHT PICTURE, EVEN WITH THE LIGHTS ON!!! UNLIKE DLP PROJECTORS, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RAINBOW EFFECT!!! ALSO: Replacement Bulbs for the Epson 2250 is around $60, DLP replacement bulbs can cost well over $200.

Q: QuestionCan speakers be hooked up to projector?
Asked by Sandi.
- A:Answer Hello Sandi, I have my Bose soundbar hooked up to it via Bluetooth.

Q: QuestionHow do I use the smart TV function while getting the high-quality sound through my AV receiver and not depend on the 3.5mm jack stereo sound? The Bluetooth is also choosey as it did not connect to the Denon receiver.
Asked by VHome.
- A:Answer You can actually remove the android dongle from back of the projector, and connect it directly to your AV Receiver and then connect the AV out from receiver to your projector.

Q: QuestionWe have the 2250, but cannot connect via Bluetooth to literally anything in our house. Is there a list somewhere of speakers that are compatible? Tried the JBL sound bar, tried every Echo we own, etc. Annoying.
Asked by Alyssa.
- A:Answer I'm having pretty much the same issue. It will connect to a cheap pair of bluetooth earbuds and a small Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3, but none of my soundbars or my Sony SRS XP700. I'm really annoyed, because this thing has great picture quality but it is ridiculously limited in it's audio connectivity, and it is NOT easy to see if a speaker is compatible with this thing before you purchase and try it. Don't know why it has to be so hard. Almost every other bluetooth device I've ever owned just worked. This one is apparently limited on purpose. It needs a firmware update, big time.

Q: QuestionDoes this have HDMI ARC support? I bought this to hook into my AV receiver and can't figure out how to get the sound to the receiver and the picture from my receiver to the projector.
Asked by DMORT.
- A:Answer Hi DMORT. No, the Epson Home Cinema 2250 projector does not support HDMI ARC. Regards, Bobby - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionSo in order for the projector to communicate sound to the AV receiver, then to the speakers we have to use HDMI AND an audio cord? A HDMI ARC compatible cord WILL NOT work?
Asked by Lindsey.
- A:Answer Hello Lindsey. The Home Cinema 2250 supports connecting external speakers over the Audio Out port or via Bluetooth. For more information, please visit the official Epson Support page. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionCan I connect the 2250 via Bluetooth to my Sonos play bar or do I need to run an optic cable?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello. Yes, you can connect the Epson Home Cinema 2250 to external speakers using a Bluetooth connection. Just navigate to the settings menu, choose HDMI Link, and you should be able to choose your device there. Q: QuestionCan it take 4k input? Does 4k input material look better/sharper on the screen compared to 1080p? Thank you.
Asked by Lonerider.
- A:Answer The projector can accept the 4K input. New gaming consoles such as the PS5 work fine with the projector. While the picture looks amazing, it still can only display 1080p though. I don't notice a difference running a UHD moving from the PS5 through the projector as I do with an HD movie through the PS4. The picture is still great though, even using just the factory presets.
