  • Features
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: What detergent is recommended for my Fisher Paykel dishwasher (DD24DDFTX9 N)? I am using Cascade Ultimate and it doesn't dissolve all of the cleanser.

A: The manual expressly forbids the use of liquid or gel-based detergents. The manual says powder-based detergents and rinse aids are preferred. Gel, liquid, or powder-based pods are also compatible with the unit, but should be placed somewhere in the drum without interfering with the rotating spray head. I’ve tried gel-based detergents because I’m a renegade with no regard for the rules, and the gel was not fully dissolved either. TL;DR: Use powder or a pod.

Q: Does Fisher Paykal make a totally stainless interior in their 2 drawer dishwashers?

A: They do not. They have a molded seamless plastic tub to prevent water leaking through seams as well as they found the plastic tub created a lower decibel wash because so many consumers are looking for a quiet dishwasher.

Q: After 15 years we are replacing our Fisher & Paykel, Dish Drawers dishwasher. Our current dishwasher only allows the use of a powdered detergent for washing the dishes. Powder is hard to find. Can I use detergent packs with the new models?

A: Yes. Our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher has served us for 20 years. Unable to purchase boxed powdered detergent—only pods— at Costco any longer, I called customer service and was told to just drop one of the pods in the silverware basket. Works fine.

Q: What is total length of time for a complete dish washing cycle?

A: There are 3 different settings. Heavy wash. Regular wash and fast wash. There is a button to put it on Eco to save wAter/ money. The longest wash on mine was 115 minutes. The next was 87 minutes and fast was 54. I’m getting ready to buy my fifth one because we have moved a lot but I love this dishwasher so much I won’t use any other. So quiet. And really cleans dishes. Won’t break your back either.

Q: what does the code f124 mean

A: Either your top or bottom pump motor is damaged. You need to pre rinse your dishes an cutlery befor washing . If not screen where motor is located will clog & burn out that motor. You need to do this monthly.

Q: Do these attract fingerprints easily?

A: No. They wipe off very easily. :)

Q: What is the difference in Fisher & Paykel dishdrawers model DD24DCTX9 24" and Model DD24DCTX9 N?

A: One has 2 equal size drawers. The other has one larger and one smaller.

    Wow! Fantastic compared to older!

Love my DishDrawers! I recently sold my home with a 9 year old one of these and knew I wanted another one in my new construction home. These new ones are near silent. They are solid built and one of the best dishwashers on the market. Yes, they are expensive but quality and nice things are expensive. The functionality of being able to do two separate loads is the best. It’s so easy to load and unload. You won’t regret buying this dishwasher! Love it! Can’t get over how quiet this is compared to my older model.

    Gorgeous, solid, functional, and fantastic

Seriously, you’ll like this dish washer. It’s sleek, unique, functional, and exudes quality. The price was a bit concerning at first: I regret nothing and may go so far as to name the dish washer … This Fisher & Paykel unit replaced an entry-level Whirlpool model that came with my new construction. I was somewhat skeptical purchasing the F&P unit sight unseen but wow am I not only satisfied but I am impressed. The build quality of this unit is top-notch: the stainless steel of the handles feels like a legitimate chunk of metal, not like the cheap sheet metal that’s over most of my appliances like my fridge. The controls are highly intuitive and feel top quality as well. I’ve done about 10 different loads in both drawers; it took a few loads to determine the appropriate amount of detergent and drying additive to use per load on the “fast” cycle, but after I figured this out (it’s a function of how hard one’s water is), the dishes came out 95% dry with absolutely no spotting / residue. For customers who have challenges with getting their dishes clean and dry with this unit, I’d suggest they read the manual for specific instructions on how to load the dish washer based on the spray patterns of the rotating wash head. Basically, if you really liked high school geometry, you’ll REALLY LOVE LOADING THIS DISH WASHER :) The benefit of this unit boils down to having two discrete dish washers built into one: while I don’t yet have a good system for allocating certain dishes to certain drawers, I can say that I’ve been sticking my coffee mugs / drinking glasses in the bottom unit while I place larger items like full-size dinner plates and chargers in the top unit.
