The HBO writers have made up for the mess in Season 5 and the missing last two novels in the Song of Fire and Ice series. The character interactions are well done and main plots continue to develop. Characters that were slow to learn in Season 1 have matured and come into their own in Season 7. This fantasy series definitely needs to be watched from the beginning, in order to understand where the characters started from and have currently arrived at such as Arya and Sansa Stark. What is great in Season 7 is that the writers have remembered that fire kills the undead. They forgot that in Season 5, when there is a building on fire, and thousands of undead charging the gate, but nobody tries to take the burning logs or torches to stop the undead. They try to use swords and arrows, duh. In Season 7, Tyrion and The Onion Knight banter back and forth on how wildfire was used in the Kings Landing battle. Hopefully they will remember to bring wildfire to fire the undead in Season 8. What make Season 7 shine is the fantastic battle scene that involves a dragon and horsemen attacking an infantry column. The battle sequencing is well done, along with cinematography. It also has humorous moments that break the tension. The battle makes more logic than the Season 6 battle between the Jon and Ramsey with the silly mound of corpses to climb over. In a battle like that, they would go around once the bodies started to pile up over two feet high. Having a seven foot high pile of bodies was really stupid, despite how the producers wanted to make a “cool looking” scene. Fantastic season.

I thought it would be too "DARK" for me... Knights and Dragons... oh no! BUT my daughter challenged me to watch two episodes and stop if I didn't like it. She and thousands (millions) of others ...were RIGHT. OMG, GOT ! I am about to turn 70. A Baby Boomer! What can I say about Game of Thrones? Phenominal writing! Outstanding Character Development! Unreal detail to costume and sets. Superb Acting! Great Cinematography! It just doesn't get better than this! A story you want to be never-ending, because you enter into it with the characters and are never disappointed by the twists and turns. I can't say enough! If you miss this one you have missed a treasure! I'll be rewatching episodes for the rest of my life!

Writing's getting sloppy, but still entertaining

It's no secret that this season of GoT had some of the sloppiest writing in series history. Far too many leaps in logic (lightning fast ravens and Gendries) and unfulfilling/forced plot resolutions (like Jorah Mormont's story or the Jon/Dany thing). But I suspect with two years to write the final season, this won't be an issue for Season 8. All that being said, the show's still entertaining to watch: great visuals & CG, great sound & music, some nice dialogue. It's serviceable. Game of Thrones at its worst is still better than many things I've seen on TV.

Game of Thrones, Season 7 is the last season for awhile, and the second to last entirely. As such, it is a great season that leaves you dying for more, but no one's quite sure when we'll get it. It provides the set up for the big battle between the human protagonists and the White Walkers from north of The Wall. It brings together the King of the North & The Queen of Dragons for the first time in a very provocative way. It leaves you dying for more. It sets the stage for the Grand Finale of one of TV's greatest & most talked about shows ever.

While GoT S7 isn't on par with the best seasons of GoT (S3 and S4 in my opinion), it is much better than S5 and S6. The cold open to the season really set the tone for the whole season! Minor quibble - only 7 episodes. This seems to have fenced in the show runners as we don't see as much character development / exploration and people seem to warp all around the world of Westeros, but the major climatic battles are very satisfying. One note - the Digital HD code can be redeemed 3 times! UV (VUDU or FandangoNOW), iTunes, and Google Play!

Anyone who has not followed GOT from season 1 thru season 7 has been missing out on a great story. Not only is the storyline interesting but the actors that partake in the series are charismatic and also believable. Thankfully HBO on demand makes it available to new fans to be carried off to Westeros to enjoy this fantasy world of Heroes,Villains, Dragons and White Walkers. Our family watches GOT faithfully and we’ll be sad when it ends.

Of course we watches this season on TV. However, since we have the other seasons, it was a no brainer to add this one to our collection. The extra features are a bonus and well worth watching. You can do so much more with the Blu-Ray than you can just watching on TV. For example, you can repeat certain parts that you may have missed, or need to understand ma little more. Anyways, without raving on and on, just get this!

I've been following this show since the beginning, and it's bittersweet that now it's nearly over. This is easily one of the greatest TV shows of all time, everyone involved always brings their A-game to everything they do, and I have absolutely NO IDEA how it could all end. But one thing's for sure; if they can keep the momentum going, it's going to be a grand finale. Bring on 2019!
