Reality and video games merge in this high-concept sci-fi action thriller from Crank creators Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. In the not too distant future, mind-control technology allows humans to control the actions and movements of other humans, allowing reclusive billionaire Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall) to create the ultimate video game. It's called "Slayers," and it's a mass-scale, multiplayer online first-person shooter that's as controversial as it is popular. In the world of gamers, Simon (Logan Lerman) is a rock star; miraculously managing to keep his character alive week after week, he racks up frags like Billy Mitchell jumps barrels. But unlike Mitchell's Mario, Simon's video-game avatar is a living, breathing human being named Kable (Gerard Butler). Defying the odds to keep Kable running and gunning though even the most explosive battles, Simon captures the imagination of a global audience. Torn from his family, thrown into prison, and forced to fight against his will, Kable realizes that his only hope of ever seeing his family again is to somehow escape the game, reclaim his identity, and expose Castle's dehumanizing technology on live television.~Jason Buchanan

Not a digital copy per say. You get a disc that is called the digital copy that you can download on itunes but not VUDU. This should have been clear and I wouldn't have purchased it. I guess I can pay and additional amount and get it on VUDU but then why not just buy it there in the first place. Movie itself is ok. Not a kids movie.
Been trying to find a blu ray special edition of this movie for a while. Some people have the regular Blu-ray, but this is the one I wanted. Don't know if it was post-black Friday or digital Monday but the price was awesome. Gerard Butler still one of my favorites. Love these Best Buy sales on DVDs I want.
The only conversion I've seen to 3D was Iron Man 3 and for how much time and money that was said to have been spent on that I thought it was sorely lacking. This conversion, on the other hand, was extremely well done. So well done in fact, that I'm quite certain I wouldn't have known it was a conversion if I didn't know that the movie wasn't filmed in 3D.
The movie itself is great for gamers, hence the title. A lot of subtle references to things that gamers are familiar with. On the other hand, it is very gritty and violent and everyone should know that going in. Not exactly a light hearted movie, but good entertainment nonetheless.
a must see in 3D .. @ $9.99 great price .. FYI the digital code WORKED for me (Lionsgate redeem) .. to iTunes .. older reviewer had it not work for them .. maybe bad key ( been there done that on other movies) movie just “ok” in 2D ..
The plot to this story was an interesting one but I hope Gamer doesn't become the future way of playing video games. It did have lots of violence and action. Watching it in Blu-ray 3D made it even better to watch.
