Good machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please let me say to syart with that my macine has a slightly different style of writing on the control panel BUT all the controls appear to be exactly the same. Machine washes well. You just can't overload it(clothes not as clean when you do). I had 2 different models of the front loaders for a couple of years and they didn't seem to get clothing as clean as the top loaders do then I figured it out (at least my thoughts are) that the front loaders use a pretty small quantity of water and fortunately the top loaders use considerably more. This might explain why the clothes often had an odor with the front loaders especially when I loaded them tightly with clothes. I also didn't like the bad odor that the front loader door gasgets developed. I also tried the unconventional top loader model that has the disk that barely sticks up from bottom Of the machine and it had the same Issue as the front loaders (too little water to fully clean the clothes) and it put Holes in clothing that was at the botton against this disk with large loads. Note: One day my GE top loader started over filling and leaking on the floor. It turns out all it was was a plugged plastic tube that connects to the back of the load size selector dial control on the machine. There is a video on Utube that shows how to fix this (either unclog it or replace it). This only happened because my water has so much sediment. I would buy this machine again.
I would recommend this to a friend - Cons mentioned:Mode shifter, Widespread problem

Lucky if it lasts three years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washer 2 1/2 years ago and am now facing $250 in repairs or buying a new washer (I am opting for the later.) After reading online how to repair the washer, it is a widespread problem with this model that the mode shifter goes out and must be replaced. Not a cheap fix. Sorely disappointed in this machine. You would do best to avoid it.

Q: Questionfor the WaterSaver rinse, does it have a sensor or does it just automatically do a smaller amount of water for the rinse cycle?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi-this is Sue from GE Appliances. We are happy to provide assistance. At the end of the wash cycle, the washer pumps out all of the water. The washer retains only the water in the clothes, it does not spin, but fills again with approximately 11 gallons of water. It will agitate for 10 seconds and then soak for 2.5-3 minutes. Last, it will pump out and do final spin. There is no sensor. Thanks for checking with us!

- A:Answer Hello, I am happy to help. Please view the links below for normal sounds you can expect to hear from your new washer. http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17814 http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17815 http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21894 We suggest to make sure the shipping material was removed and make sure the washer is level. For details, see the following links: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445 http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16557 To level washer: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17817 Washers that have a load setting (Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small) fill with the same amount of water every time based on the water level chosen. The water usage will be a little less than older washers to comply with federal energy and water regulations. I hope this helps. Thank you for checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.
