    • Washing Mechanism: Agitator (There are two washing mechanisms to choose from in today's washing machines: agitators or impellers. An agitator is a column located in the center of the washing tub. It may be finned or vaned, and works to clean clothes by rotating and rubbing against clothes to break down stains. An impeller is a low-profile cone at the bottom of the tub that uses fins, cones, or discs to create motion. This motion pushes clothes to rub against each other, versus against an agitator, to break down dirt.)
    • Agitator Type: Dual-action (A single-action agitator typically rotates one way to circulate clothes throughout the washer. A dual-action agitator has two parts that rotate differently; the top rotates to push clothes down toward the bottom of the tub while the bottom continues to move clothes in a circular motion. Triple-action agitators work similarly, but add a third up-and-down motion to the dual rotation.)

Q: How long does a typical normal cycle take? My old machine is EXTREMELY slow, taking an hour and a half or more to complete a load. Unfortunately with working a full time job, that is way too long to be able to get laundry done!

A: It varies depending on what you are washing, the longest cycle is for bulky items - 53 minutes. The shortest - the QuickWash - is 12 minutes. The average normal load is 35-43 minutes.

Q: Is this a traditional or HE model?

A: Hi JoAnn- Some GE Appliance washer models have the "HE" label on the control panel (GTW755CSMWS) and other models do not. However, GE Appliances recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. This model has a Deep Fill feature. Select Deep Fill for loads where extra water is needed (available on all wash cycles except the Normal/Colors cycle due to 2016 Department of Energy regulations). TOP LOAD WASHERS - DEEP FILL: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=22718 - Matching Dryer: Electric GTD75ECSLWS / Gas GTD75GCSLWS. We hope you'll choose GE! Keep in touch- Sue

Q: Is there a cycle that only rinses and then spins? I have a some items I prefer to handwash - hoping to find a machine I can toss them in while still a bit soapy to rinse and spin them. Thanks!

A: Hi savsf - The washer has a Drain & Spin cycle. For items that need only to be rinsed, select the Deep Rinse option when using this cycle to achieve rinse and spin. Pair with GE® 7.4 cu. ft. Capacity aluminized alloy drum Electric Dryer with HE Sensor Dry GTD75ECSLWS (Gas GTD75GCSLWS). Thanks for choosing GE! Sue
