Nice stove for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall nice stove . Thought I was getting a more of a dark grey color but it is a deep black with the fingerproof resistant SS. Was disappointed about the darker color. Only had it a week but works well thus far but not a lot of" bells and whistles. " Timer is very quiet. Hard to hear in a different room. I like the air fryer feature but does not come with an air fryer basket.

Good purchase
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love our new stove so far. The best function that we never had in our previous stove is Air Fry. We love it.We used to have GE Stove before and bought the same brand. The only negative side is cleaning (which is the same with this types of cooktops for any stove). We thought it would be easier to clean with this cooktop, but it is not. It requires some special cleaning solution. A sample was provided with the purchase. We will buy the same as sample and use it. Other than that, it is good. 4 stars is for cleaning, otherwise 5. Installation with BestBuy is excellent. The guys removed the old stove and installed a new one. Good service. We also purchased Total Tech, which makes sense in this case. You can talk to them on the phone and they help you.

Updated Appliance that heats quickly for electric
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am familiar with the G E brand and it has not disappointed. The stove fits very well in the standard opening in my kitchen and adds an updated look to the kitchen. I prefer electric heat and the elements heat up quickly on top of the stove as well as the oven. You have to look carefully at the dials as the controls are a newer design for me allowing you to create the eye needed for your size pot or pan you need to cook. Clean up is best when you let the stove cool and wipe up the spill. I cook a great deal of food for my family and I had to find the right cleaner to successfully take away the spills. Once I experimented with cream cleaners, the glass top is smooth and shiny. Use pots and pans compatible with glass tops. The oven baked a lovely cream cheese pound cake and preheating was quick. The stove also has a self cleaning element for the oven and storage. The stove is easy to set and make sure to examine the dials as they are different than what i am use to. Overall I am pleased with the stove.

Q: Questioncan you turn the convection off?
Asked by mindy.
- A:Answer To use the convection feature you need to engage the control panel, otherwise it is turned off. I have not baked or used this function due to the extreme heat we are experiencing. I have been using the stove top to cook due to the outside heat, and discovered a melt setting today on the small back burner, a surprise to me.

Q: QuestionWhat is power boil versus two ring burner?
Asked by TimA.
- A:Answer Hi Tim - Thanks for viewing GE JB655FKDS! The 6"/9" PowerBoil™ (3100 Watt) element is 20% more powerful than the standard 6"/9" element and the PowerBoil packs the same wattage as the 12-inch elements into an element that is 33% smaller. By concentrating the heat, our time to boil has been reduced by approximately 14%. The 12"/9" dual element lets you choose between 12-inch and 9-inch electric elements for a more convenient cooking experience. Q: QuestionHow do you use the air fry feature on this model?
Asked by JoyfulJourney.
- A:Answer Just push the air fyer button then start. And set to desired temp. It automatically goes to 400 degrees when you push start. You can change the temp using the key pad on stove. Do not have to wait for the air fryer to preheat like the bake feature which is nice. Does not come with an air fryer basket. I use a regulat pan and spray with cooking spray. Also does not come with directions for cooking times and temperatures for different foods, Which is a con. But with that said, really enjoying the air fyer option.

Q: QuestionWe bought one of these ranges. No booklet came with it but we did get one for the microwave. Questioned the installer but got no reliable answer. How do I use the self cleaning. This is new to me and I want to get it right.
Asked by BeaB.
- A:Answer Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us! We hate to hear you did not receive a manual for your range; we know that is valuable for a new appliance, and are glad to advise you can view the manual online. If you go to our GE website and look up your model number, you can click on the product page and use the 'Owner Support' link (under the picture of the appliance) to pull up that document. The instructions for cleaning the range, including the Self Clean option, start on page 16 of the manual. There are also safety instructions at the beginning of the manual for Self Clean, because of the very high temperatures. To give an overview: before operating Self Clean, wipe up grease and soils from the oven. Remove all items from the interior other than dark color enamel racks. Shiny or silver racks, cookware and other items need to be removed. Close and latch the door, and press the Self Clean pad. A default time will be displayed which you can alter if you wish using the plus and minus options; once you have the preferred time press Start. It will take at least 3 and at most 5 hours; the oven will reach extremely high temperatures during this time and for safety reasons needs to stay locked and closed. The oven will turn itself off when the cycle is complete. Once it has cooled down it can be unlocked and any remaining ash wiped up. The first time you use Self Clean, we recommend venting your kitchen with an open window, or using a ventilation fan or hood. If you own birds we advise moving them to another well-ventilated room; their health can be sensitive to the fumes given off during this cycle. We hope this information is helpful, and are available for any other concerns or questions. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
