Q: Hi, was does this vent to? The cabinet underneath? Is this for a duct free installation?

A: Hi TXJ - The downdraft exhaust system effectively pulls smoke and steam out of the kitchen through ducting installed in the cabinet under the cooktop. Ductwork must be vented to outside. It cannot be recirculated (duct-free). See Quick Specs at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PP9830DJ_TJ_c3.pdf - Keep in touch! Sue

Q: Hi, can I get a price on the installation for this product and do they take the old one. thank you

A: Price for installation is set by Best Buy. Unleaa additional work is needed, like cut out for size, no additional cost is incurred. When you pay for the product you also pay for the installation. Well worth the cost, very efficient installation by a Best Buy contracted vendor. They advised me that there was an additional small fee to haul away the old unit.

Q: Does white cooktop stain? Making burnt spots that will stay? Cons versus black top?

A: This cooktop will get cooking stains if water , food hit it while it’s still hot But it comes right off with the solution they give you, but I just use a soft rag with warm water mostly and it sparkles right up I have all stainless appliances and this had to go in an island right in the middle of my kitchen I did not want to see a huge black cooktop The white is beautiful , sleek and makes my island look clean and elegant - very low profile You do have to be willing to clean up after cooking or I imagine cooked on stains could be a pain to remove ( but they do come off) if they sit for a long time

Q: Does PP9830DJBB cooktop have any of these settings? (descriptions from GE website but can’t find answer) MELT: melt & hold chocolate without scorching ~110 degrees SIMMER: melt butter, hold at least 140 degrees KEEP WARM: just above 140 degrees

A: Hi cinco11 - Thanks for considering GE Profile Model # PP9830DJBB! The right rear burner has Melt setting that is optimized for melting chocolate, and this simmer setting delivers the low gentle heat needed. The burners do not have Keep Warm setting. Also, the control for the radiant surface unit can be set anywhere between LO and HI for an unlimited number of heat settings. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com for all your appliance needs! Sue

Q: can you tell me the size of each burner thank you

A: the smallest burner is 6 1/2", two mid size is 7 1/2", and the largest size is 9 1/2". the measurement is the length from one side to the other side(diameter)of the circular frame of the burners.

Q: I have GE Model no JP989KB1BB can this model be the best Replacement ?
