Had to send back it didn’t fit in the space. They were very nice about everything. If they sent the second crew instead of the first. I wouldn’t have had to send it back twice and I wouldn’t have to get a plumber which was an extra expense and didn’t do the job right. Not Best Buy fault. The plumbers fault. Everything had to be done quickly since I was going to the hospital for surgery. So in short I had to fix old machine and thank God that worked, because I really really needed it. I will definitely use Best Buy again. Stand up company. But will never use that plumber. Live and learn. Plumber came highly recommended. Not up to my standards.
Bought this open box. I think 850. Had it installed. Install guys awesome!!!!!! Frickin hard install and they nailed it. Up two flights? No prob. Squeeze into the room? No prob. Stuck in the laundry? Squeezes out like a tube of toothpaste. Great job guys. Tipped 20 bucks each. Awesome!!
I bought this online , after chatting with the guy. Was very surprised /happy, at how big both the tub and the drum is. Huge! So far, I am very happy. Nice and quiet. It took about 50 minutes to dry a load. Will write more in due time.
The GE Spacemaker Washer and Dryer works great for our beach house rental. Good amount of laundry can be done in a small laundry area. Best Buy was a super value and their delivery folks did a wonderful job setting it up for us.
To Whom It May Concern:
To lead off, I was very excited and happy on the deal I received from the Best Buy Outlet in Lynnwood, WA. The customer service was great and it was a quick delivery.
When the 2-hour window of delivery was coming close to ending, I did receive a call that it was there to get installed. This was good.
After work, I was literally, looking forward to running some laundry to catch up since the break. The horrible surprise was that the washer was not working. I do not believe the installation reps actually tested to confirm everything was in order. [I will be calling customer service to address this].
Trying to find the cause of the problem, I went to see if maybe the water had not been turned on [this was not the case--water was actually on and good]. However, just with moving it in the beginning, the dryer exhaust tube was already loose and in moving things back, the other end came out [pictures attached]!
Because I had already put clothes in the washer, I actually had to finish this chore, by cleaning things in the bathtub. After spending over $1,000, this is a horrible way to start.
Model and Serial Numbers are also attached for reference.
I bought this laundry center in August 2019 as part of a remodel. Didn’t actually install and start using it until November 2019. I have probably done 20-30 loads of laundry in it, there is rust spots all around the top of the inside tub! The dryer is fine but the washer is terrible. So Disappointed in this purchase!
A:AnswerHi Krnhny13- Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. Electric models should be connected to a dedicated 240V or 208V 30-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. The 240/208V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. The power cord should be purchased separately. Thanks for choosing GE! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerHi HerbK- On GUD27 unitized washer/dryer units, the dryer is deeper in the rear than the washer. The overhang is 4" past the back panel of the washer, which means it sticks out past the vent, electrical, and plumbing connections. The dryer can sit up against a wall without adding any extra depth to the unit. This provides space for the connections in the rear. Because of this overhang, the unit does not need knockouts to vent to the left or right side. The vent elbow can be turned left, right, or down as needed. We suggest to view the Installation Instructions for dimensions and details (See 27” NOMINAL PRODUCT DIMENSIONS page 2) : http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-16781-1.pdf - Keep in touch! A:AnswerHi Sam - Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. This appliance should be connected to an individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 240V or 208V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by
30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers KW Rating per voltage (240/208). Power cord should be purchased separately. A:AnswerHi Bargainseeker23- The washer basket is stainless steel. The dryer drum is DuraDrum which is a galvanized steel drum that is double coated with tough polyester paint and backed with a stainless steel rear. The drum is white in color, with the shine, smoothness, and durability of stainless steel in the back of the drum. Thanks for viewing GE. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerHi Mojo - This unit can be vented from the rear, left and right sides. The dryer is deeper in the rear than the washer. Please reference page 15 of the Installation Guide for complete details on venting from the left: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-16781-3.pdf - Thanks for your interest in GE!
