Control lights and small electronics with this GE Z-Wave Plus smart receptacle. The tamper-resistant outlet replaces your standard receptacle and offers easy app-controlled lighting through Z-Wave-compatible hubs (not included). A standard pass-through AC outlet handles regular electronics use, while the enabled outlet on this GE Z-Wave Plus smart receptacle is ideal for bulbs such as halogen, compact fluorescent and even LED.
Q: Can one plug be set to constant on and the other as remote?
A: Yes, that's how it works. Only one is controllable.
Q: What is center button for on this plug-in outlet?
A: You use it to pair it to the z-wave network. You might also be able to turn off the z-wave plug (one side) w/out unplugging your device. I can't test that part and it's not accessible behind an electric fireplace.
Q: Will these work on a combined 2.4 & 5 GHZ network or would I need to separate out 2.4
A: Hello Dave, thank you for your question. It will not matter what type of network you have. It can work with either. You just have to connect your Z-Wave hub/gateway to the router, and then once your Z-Wave hub is online, you will be able to pair the Z-Wave outlet.
