    Synopsis

    Gone in 60 Seconds
Maindrian Pace (H.B. Halicki) is a master car thief who heads an elaborate organization of professionals. Using an insurance investigation company as a front, Pace and his associates buy junked cars from accident scenes, steal new autos of the same model and color, then switch the serial numbers for resale. It's a lucrative business, but when some shady characters offer them 400,000 dollars to deliver 50 specific luxury vehicles, the challenge is too much to pass up. The burglars put on disguises and waste no time in lifting limousines, official racecars, and Rolls-Royces (even stopping by a television studio to steal actor Lyle Waggoner's convertible). When Pace discovers that a recently stolen Cadillac has a million dollars worth of heroin in the trunk, he destroys the car and the drugs, which infuriates his adversarial partner, Eugene (Jerry Daugirda). Just as Pace is stealing a bright yellow Mustang (code-named Eleanor), the Los Angeles police department gives chase, tipped off by Eugene's anonymous call. This leads to the meat of the film, a wild 40-minute pursuit which takes Pace and the police through five cities and leads to the destruction of 93 cars. Gone in 60 Seconds was a big hit for first time director/writer/producer/star H.B. Halicki, and inspired a big-budget remake in 2000. ~ Fred Beldin, Rovi

This is a Mill Creek Archive release. The digital release is not VUDU, or iTunes store compatible, they have their own digital library that can not be linked to anything else. You have to create an account on the site, and stream it from there, or using their specific app. If you are getting this so that you can easily watch it anywhere keep that in mind. The actual movie was remastered, and is in great condition, the dedication that plays before the movie is not remastered, and is hard on the eyes.

      Terrible Picture! DON'T BUY

The movie producers some how thought we wanted to see the version that was on tv. The picture is TERRIBLE and I do not recommend you buy it. The regular DVD, which I own, is widescreen and this bluray is blurry and you can't see the whole picture. It's also super grainy. It's like you're watching it through a tunnel. Wish I could get my money back.

I personally like the original better than the Nick Cage remake. I am like that with most movies, though. If you liked the newer one, you will love this one!

For being a Blu ray special edition this lacks a good transfer and special features. I heard the old DVD is one to get but as they are going for $30+ this is a good alternative.

Pretty bad production value compared to the remake, but fun nonetheless especially if you love old cars and bad 70s movies.

Mediocre Film Great Transfer. Low budget film with no name actors. The remake is better.
