Harry Potter still holds up 20 years later
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Best Buy has really been stepping up the way they ship their collectible steelbooks! My copy came in perfect condition. The design in the front cover is stunning and the view of Hogwarts in the back of the steelbook is incredible. Definitely excited to add this to my growing collection!

Definitive version of the movie
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. The first Harry Potter movie is pretty old now and has not aged too gracefully from a video fidelity standpoint. This new 4K remaster does not really “fix" much, unfortunately, but it's still an improvement over the standard blu-ray. The movie was never known for being pin-sharp, so it's no surprise that this remaster is very tame on that end. Colors are improved a bit and darker scenes look better thanks to the HDR. The steel book is nice, and the magic movie mode or whatever it's called is a nice touch that hardcore fans will appreciate.

Great movie!
||Posted .I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart, with every ounce of my being, that the Harry Potter books are among some of the most well-developed, thoroughly planned, terrifically intriguing, thought-provoking and meaningful books I have ever read. Honestly. J.K. Rowling, whom I respect and admire profusely, has poured meaning and absolute beauty into every single word of Harry’s journey, each and every individual character and the part they have to play - for good or ill. I thoroughly recommend these books, they have certainly taught me many life lessons as a young man (many of which were rekindled when I would reflect back on the books and my untainted memory of them), and they certainly have something very special to offer those who read them with patience. That leads to my next point. For those who find joy in immersing themselves in fantasy and taking adventures, filled with both darkness and light, head on - you have found the right books. The characters are diverse, magical places jump onto the page rather suddenly, and authentic humor wriggles into the book when the time is right. To most I would appear to be exaggerating in this particular book review (perhaps far too passionate?) and you would be right in saying so, but I just can’t help it. I’m truly grateful to have stumbled across these books (along with Lord of the Rings and several other classics) and they will continue to help me through life. Enjoy (PS - Tell Ron to watch out for Scabber’s nasty bite. Also, I would highly recommend keeping one or two Basilisk fangs in your pocket...) 17 people found this helpful.

Has it Really Been 20 Years?!?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I was absolutely flabbergasted when this anniversary release was announced! I could not believe that this movie has been out for 20 years now! It has well-withstood the tests of time and has retained all of its original charm and (pardon the pun) magic. Another thing that drew me to this release was the artwork adorning the front of the steelbook case, and how very similar it seemed to the original theatrical release poster. Whether this was an accidental or intentional design choice, I LOVE IT!!! I have passed on so many of the home video releases over the years as they strayed so very far away from that original art... each release just got more and more visually bland and boring, in my opinion! All in all, I would say that this is a must-have in any fan's collection!

"Sorcercer's Stone 4K" casts a spell on 4K UHD!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. The victim of an awful-looking Blu-ray release several times over, "Sorcercer's Stone" looks magnificient in 4K! Taken from a new scan, the theatrical cut in 4K has healthy grain structure and natural looking sharpness without any additional enhancement. The included Blu-ray features the theatrical cut and the extended cut, and another Blu-ray disc full of archival extras rounds out the package. I thought about buying the big 4K box set for all the films but found out it only includes 4K and movie-only standard Blu discs with no extra special features discs for the films.
