What is the extended holiday return and exchange policy at Best Buy?

Buy your gifts and other items this holiday with the knowledge that Best Buy has easy returns. Purchases made November 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, have an extended return period through January 14, 2025, excluding items purchased with a third-party contract, e.g., activatable devices (cell phones, cellular tablets, mobile hotspots, and cellular wearables); and AppleCare+ plans, etc.; and holiday products (e.g., artificial trees, lights, decorations, etc.). Other exclusions, including restocking fees, non-returnable products, and all other terms and conditions of the Best Buy Return & Exchange Promise apply. 

What is a Doorbuster?

Doorbusters are some of our hottest deals of the holiday season, available in limited quantities. They’re available in store, online and in the Best Buy app while supplies last. Look for the “Doorbuster” callout above the product’s price, or visit BestBuy.com/HolidayShopping beginning 11/7 to shop all live Doorbusters.

How and when can I get Doorbusters?

Doorbusters are available while supplies last in-store, online, and in the Best Buy app every Friday, 11/8–12/20. My Best Buy Plus™ and My Best Buy Total™ members will get Early Access on Thursdays. (Select Early Access Doorbuster pricing will be available for all customers).

What is Curbside Pickup?

Available at most of our stores, Curbside Pickup is a safe, convenient and easy way to get your tech this holiday. Place your order online and select the Curbside Pickup option at your nearest store. Park in the designated Curbside Pickup area, let us know in the Best Buy app that you’ve arrived, and our team will deliver your order directly to your vehicle.

Does Best Buy price match during the holidays?

Yes. Best Buy has a Holiday Price Match Guarantee in effect throughout the holiday season. If our price goes lower during the holiday season, we'll match it. Some exclusions apply. See Price Match Guarantee for full details.

What are Best Buy stores’ holiday hours?

To accommodate your schedule during the holiday rush, many Best Buy stores will be open for extended holiday hours. Some stores may have different hours where required by local ordinances or landlord regulations. Mall-based Best Buy store hours may vary based on mall hours. Does Best Buy offer layaway?

Best Buy does not offer layaway. However, Best Buy offers flexible financing options with the My Best Buy® Credit Card, as well as a lease-to-own option with Progressive Leasing.

My local store and BestBuy.com ran out of the item I want. Is there another way to get it?

Inventory is constantly updated in stores and on BestBuy.com throughout the holiday season, especially when it comes to the holiday’s most popular items. Make sure to check back early, and often, in case of a restock.

How do I check my order status?

Visit the Order Status page. Enter the order number (from your order confirmation email), plus the last name and phone number you used to place the order. If you have an account, you can also access your orders from your Account Overview after you sign in.

I bought a gift that requires service/installation. When can I expect that to be scheduled?

Products that require installation (such as remote car starters) are some of our perennial best-sellers around the holiday season. We’ll always try our best to accommodate your needs when scheduling a service appointment, but the demand for appointments around the holidays is so high that appointment slots typically fill up quickly. We’ll be happy to reserve the most convenient, available appointment slot for you, but for time-sensitive services/installations we recommend that you schedule as far in advance as possible.

What can I expect if I contact the Best Buy Customer Service team?

Customers are likely to experience longer than normal wait times when they call, due to high demand for our products, services, and special offers. Although we do our best to adjust our staffing to accommodate, we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

BestBuy.com will have the latest product availability information. Please check back frequently, as product availability may change. Statuses such as Sold Out or Check Stores may update throughout the season.

Products displayed as Sold Out, In Store Only, or Check Stores cannot be ordered by phone. Call Center agents are not able to provide guidance on inventory levels.

How long before I can expect my refund?

Customers are likely to experience longer than normal refund times, due to high volume of returns of products, services, and special offers during the holiday season. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience these delays may cause. See our Refund Method and Timing page for expected timelines by refund type.

Note that depending on your financial institution (major credit card or bank), processing time may vary after we process the return to reflect on your account. Please check with your financial institution for status on when funds will be available in your account.

Mailed checks during the holiday season are subject to carrier delays and may take longer than normal.
