Where inspired design meets amazing tech.

Interior design and technology don’t always coexist comfortably. But Best Buy has solutions that can bring the latest tech into your home without distracting from its visual appeal. In this beautiful residence, some of the latest TVs and speakers are hidden in plain sight, while a Savant smart home system controls it all.

Disappearing tech.

A Best Buy Premium Designer worked with the customer and their interior designer to create what you see today. As the Premium Designer said, “We knew the homeowner wanted nice TVs and good sound. We also knew the interior designer didn’t want these elements distracting from the home’s beautiful aesthetic. So, we found a happy medium — to basically make the technology disappear.”

When you turn on the TV over the fireplace, you realize that piece of framed art is also a TV screen, and the box below it is a soundbar covered by a custom Leon frame, made to match. The Sonance speakers are invisible, built into the ceiling, covered by a skim coat of plaster and painted over. They’re completely hidden from sight, but not from your ears, as they deliver premium audio performance.

The media room in the basement also appears to be free of technology, with its frame TV, hidden speakers and even a subwoofer concealed in a cabinet.

A team approach. An ongoing partnership.

To maximize the tech-design synergy, it was important to have a strong connection between Best Buy, the interior designer and the customer.

The homeowner told us, “I had ideas for what I wanted throughout the house, and it was great because [Best Buy], my interior designer and my contractor all worked together to make it happen.”

And the partnership didn’t end when the installation was done. “If I have a problem, my system can’t be down - I have two businesses to run. So, it’s great because when I call, they can either fix it remotely or they’ll send somebody over to figure out the problem.”
