Hoover - SteamVac Upright Steam Cleaner with Power Brush - Blue

I had the same machine ..older version and really liked it. The newere one seems a little more lighweight and not as durable. Time will tell.

replaces another hoover steam cleaner that folded at the handle, and had 2 tanks on the front that were nuch larger. It was comparably priced. I assumed this product would be comparable.The folding handle made it an apartment living dream to store. unfortunaltely it wore out. This one doesn't have good brushes, and the retrival tank fills and needs emptying every minute. Makes the job take a lot longer. Will not buy this kind again.And will probably replace it soon. This one makes the job harder.

I got this hoover steamvac from best buy online. It was very simple to put together. This model comes with the hose to clean your upholstery, stairs, your car etc. It comes with one brush attachment along with the hose. I used the carpet cleaner to clean my main hallway carpet in my home. It's a super dirty hallway with all sorts of spots, traffic stains and vomit spots from my dog. First I vacuum the area and then I pretreated all my spots and stains with a stain pretreater solution. Then i used carpet cleaner soap with my machine. It did a really good job of scrubbing all the spot and stains i had. You can see how well this machine works and how much dirt it picks up by looking at the dirty the water it has collected. This machine picks up the water pretty well and doesn't leave my carpet soak and wet. After cleaning, i used a fan to dry my carpet and my hall way was dry in about an hour. There is no heated cleaning in this machine but I used HOT tap water as instructed in the manual and it worked well too. Although i will be honest, its a good machine to clean a small area, a rug, or a small room. But in my opinion, if you plan to use this machine to clean the whole entire house, it might be better to have a bigger machine because it would have a wider cleaning width. BUT... it is possible to clean the whole house if you have the patience. Overall, its a great machine to have. Its lightweight, compact and very simple to use. It left my carpet looking like new. I'm actually impressed.

I bought it because the reviews raved about it. Got it home and tried it. It isn't great. It leaves way too much water behind. It says steam technology all over the box(and was under the steam cleaner section on bestbuy.com) but IS NOT A STEAMER!!!! Either way, it sucked. I tried it on a fairly thin rug and no water came up. I tried it on a thicker rug and some water came up but not enough. I placed my hand infront of the vacum piece and could barely feel any suction. I sprayed water onto my linoleum floor as a test. It didn't suck any up. Buy a better one

I have two dogs who recently went through a puppy stage so I was excited to finally steam clean my carpets for my new baby. The cleaner barely cleaned the carpets because it would get clogged with carpet fibers ever 10 seconds. Granted, I have very cheap builder quality carpet that clogs my vacuum, but this was 10 times worse. I deep cleaned the carpet before I used the steamer, to get the dog hair out of the carpet, but it still clogged despite vacuuming three times before. The construction of the machine was also cheaper than I expected. I bought it on Black Friday for like 79.99 but it still doesn't feel worth the sales price I paid.

I bought this a year ago, but only used it recently because I got busy with other things. The product is cheap and the word "Steam" is definitely misleading. There is no steam produced from this machine. You put in hot water from the tap. I could not even get the water to release from the canister. The warter only trickled out and did not even slightly dampen my carpet. Of course it is beyond the warranty so I cannot get it fixed now. It does work as a good vacuum, but that is not what the product is for.

Had this steamvac for less than a year before it died. I was cleaning the carpets and it started to spark on me leaving black ash all over my carpet!! Don't buy this! I've had hoover steamvacs before and never had any problems. Spend the extra money and buy one of their better models.

my second one ...first one had the same problem...the fluid handle is not secured, and it comes off at the bottom, thereby not allowing the fluid to flow. I will never buy another anything HOOVER, and would not recommend it to anyone.
