Big hard drive, good ram, decent video card. Can handle most games on mid or at least low settings. It's not a gaming laptop, but pretty decent with games. HD video streaming works great. Handles basic programs extremely well. Overall, very good mid level laptop. Especially for the price.

Purchased at just under four hundred on New Years Day, I was thrilled to get a laptop with these specs. USB 3.0, HDMI, media reader, touchscreen, enhanced graphics, back lit full-sized keyboard, Bluetooth and 1TB hard drive were all attractive to me, and while the AMD A10 processor gave me pause, I jumped on the deal. What I've found after a bit of use is that after unboxing, running Windows Update and then updating to Windows 8.1 for free via the Microsoft site, I like this quick, mid-range laptop a lot. I got a heck of a buy for the price I paid, but if I'd paid more, I'm not sure I'd feel this way. The Windows performance Index is a 5.8 on this PC, with graphics being the lowest score. 7.1 and 6.8 were memory and processor respectively. (7.1 was the highest score.) The PC's fan runs a lot and it heats up quickly. I put a laptop fan underneath it which meant more fan noise, but it did take the CPU temp down. This is an ultra-thin notebook, and I had hopes of traveling with it, but in all honesty I'd need the laptop fan with me too, to feel like I wasn't potentially harming the PC with the heat it generates. Beats Audio was disappointing. The PC has a built-in subwoofer in the bottom, and two speakers up top. The sound can be adjusted via the Beats software and that helps, but it's still not the 'ta-da' I had hoped for when I saw 'Beats Audio' on the box. Perhaps I was just expecting too much? I paired the PC with my Creative Bluetooth headset. It connected easily, but sounded terrible. Again, maybe an issue with the drivers for the headset or a software setting. A wired headset sounded fine. Pairing with a cheap Bluetooth speaker was easy, and gave me the best quality sound thus far from this laptop. I enjoy listening to iTunes Radio this way, and it worked well. The webcam is OK. A bit grainy, but fun avatars and effects. Easy to upload photos and video to Facebook too. The PC doesn't have a CD/DVD player, but the 3 USB ports make it easy to add an external one if you need it. They are only about thirty bucks so I'll probably pick one up to have on hand. The touchscreen needs to be calibrated , but once you do, it's great. Crisp and clear, 15.6" screen. The keyboard is responsive and backlighting can be turned on and off on the keyboard. Touchpad too is responsive. Moving through multiple tasks quickly is no problem for this PC. Nothing bogs down. Netflix and Hulu Plus look great, and photo editing was a breeze. I can't speak to gaming, as I don't do much of that, but I suspect it would be fine for most online games. Overall, I'm very pleased with this HP as for me it was a budget price with mid-level features.

Overall a good product and well worth the price. I use it for gaming and school work and general computer use. Plays Guild Wars 2, Smite, Left 4 Dead, and just about all new games on medium to high settings.

I have been looking for a new windows 8 laptop for law school for months. This one is small but still has the 10 key. The display is clear and the beats by dre blow my mind.

I looked for a fast laptop and my first choice was a samsung and i bought it , got it home and tried it for a week and it was way to slow so i did some more looking and went back and found this one .

Exactly what we needed for school homework support, basic surfing, and some gaming fun.

Honestly speaking, this thing deserves 2 stars but i gave it 3 because I ended up keeping it lol PROS: This laptop has a huge screen and the touchscreen seems to work wonderfully. graphics are to bad and when I play l4d or CS it seems to do fine. a very clean and good looking laptop imo CONS: There are a lot of cons with this laptop in my opinion. First, i dont know if this is stander for laptops but this laptops fan is at the bottom. So using this laptop on your bed or lap is completely out of the question. Even when on a desk it seems to get hot very quickly. 2nd, the battery life of this thing is terrible. It says it gets a 4 hour battery life but when your realistically use it, its more like 2-3 hour life. It also had a built in battery so you cant even buy a spare. Horrible design if you ask me. 3rd, the mouse pad on this thing is pretty bad as well. its one whole pad so when you want to right click you have to press the very corner which doesnt always work. The keyboard feels okay, but the buttons flex a little. It doesnt bother me but for some of you knit pickers out there this might drive you crazy
