A game changer for sure!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Normally I buy Dell products, After doing some detailed research on this Laptop I took a leap of faith and bought it. I can say I am extremely surprised as well as pleased. it handles Gaming better than my Server tower which was hand built. I made the switch to Nividia from raedon with this PC and am also surprised with them. Only draw back is that on high end gaming it does get warm, doesn't overheat just warm, other than that I wish I'd chosen the one with more RAM. However I've had this PC for a few months now and I work it harder than most people I am a writer and a gamer so It is always in use. I play several high graphic games and it has yet to not perform at high or ultra settings. Overall a great PC great buy and glad I bought it.

Great gaming laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this with my oculus rift. It was a toss up between this and the Dell gaming laptop. I chose this due to higher processor and of course, the looks! No problems yet but I do wish it had more video outputs. But after buying Plugable USB 3 docking, I was able to mirror my oculus video and sound to 2 other screens! I'm not a heavy gamer so as long as it plays my oculus games with ease, I'm good. Highly recommended!

best bang for the buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: Although the HP Omen is manufactured for and advertised as a Gaming rig it is not what I bought it for however this machine is ready for anything you want. I was looking for a laptop to do homework which would involve video editing and the specs on the HP Omen where what i was looking for. -7th Gen i7 -powerful graphics card (NVIDIA GFORCE GTX) -4K DISPLAY -10 key pad are a must for me Cons (if you can really call them cons): this machine was built for gamine the design is wild and sticks out in class the keyboard has cool red led lights which is nice for when your utilizing it night because red light is less harsh and allows your rest except for the "wasd keys", that are red colored keys illuminated in white, which in anyone who is into PC gaming knows those are for movement. Prior to this machine i use a Laptop that had a nice 1080p 17.5'' display with a big 5.5'' track pad full length keyboard. sounds nice but it was big heavy and cumbersome in the mobility department. the Omens does have 10 key pad which i like but because of its smaller frame the "0" key is not the long key on the bottom that takes a little getting used to if you utilize the 10 key pad to crunch numbers as frequently as i do you may find this a frustrating at first. A Actual Con: only 8 GB of RAM going to need to upgrade it in order to process my large video projects faster also I do play WOW every now and then so not that 8 GB won't work I just know it can be a little better.

good choice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this back in November 2017, it is now February 2018 and so far it has worked fast and pretty well. The only problem I've had was with a certain game, every time I clicked on it, the screen would flicker for a moment but then everything goes back to normal. Not sure if something is wrong with the computer or if something went wrong while downloading the game. Other than that, it works just fine with other games. All in all I think it is a good computer for gaming, graphics look awesome, computer is very quiet, never gets loud when playing a game or doing anything else, and works well for school work as well. I've noticed some people complain about the screen bleeding but everything looks fine with mine.

Good Budget Gaming Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I'm very happy with the laptop. It looks cool (unless you don't like the look of gaming laptops). My wife thinks it look hideous. I was worried that the 7200 RPM HDD would be WAY to slow, but it not too bad. It's no SSD, but it's not bad. It boots up really quickly for a HDD. Although I haven't timed it, it exceeded my expectations. Of course it takes a few extra seconds to load any applications, but that's to be expected. I will probably upgrade this sometime in the future, but it's not as pressing as I thought it would be. The only game I've played on it so far is Metal Gear Solid V and it's performed perfectly on the highest graphics settings. The keyboard is really nice, too. I like that you can select to back light the entire keyboard, just the WASD keys, or noting at all. I actually like it more than my XPS 15 keybard. It's also been very comfortable while playing games. The speakers sound pretty good, especially for a laptop. I acutally don't mind listening to music with them. I typically can't stand laptop speakers, but these are a different story. My only real complaint is with the screen. It's a 60Hz FHD Display, but it's pretty poor. The back lighting is pretty inconsistent and on a full black screen you can see some pretty terrible screen bleed. I've heard they offer a FHD 120 Hz display that is much better, but this one doesn't have it. I got this one on sale for $699 during the holidays. I think that's a great value. I'd be hard pressed to purchase it for the full price. If the monitor were better it might be worth it.

Don't second guess
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my hunt to replace my dying laptop I first bought a VIVO that was a mistake. I returned it and grabbed this bad boy. While not exactly what I wanted it's bested my expectations. Once I solved a few recurring errors and turned off automatic shutdown when an error occurs this thing has been running like a champ. I wish it weren't plastic but it still seems solid. I'd be careful of what bag you put it in and not be to rough with jostling it but it should hold up to standard abuse. The one complaint I do have is the back lighting I'm not a fan of the red and so far I haven't found a way to adjust it. It seems like it's all or nothing. Even after downloading the control panel from HP. Overall this is a powerhouse with a super entry level price. You can't beat this in terms of value. Are there much better machines? Yes. But at this price point you can't do much better. Anything cheaper is going to drive you insane.
