Good but not great
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I bought this hp desktop because of the CPU and that I planned on upgrading RAM and graphics card. Unfortunately I didn’t do enough research prior to buying. First, The 180W power supply is not enough juice to do anything. One stick of RAM, it’s such a pain to get another exact stick so you just buy 2 Corsair Dimms and sell stick on eBay, Upgrading CPU cooler was a challenge but doable. The front of case is not metal, it’s plastic. Not HP’s fault. Everything runs well now, but onboard graphics were choppy playing 4K videos and games were just ok. Honestly I should be the one getting rated by this computer as one or a two stars because I should have purchased one more suitable to my needs.

Wish it had two HDMI outlets
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.I wish it would come with two HDMI outlets, most people have two screens now. I had to buy an adapter. Also the keyboard doesn’t have an option to lock the F1 through F12 keys.

Rock solid, quiet and fast.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I bought this on sale about 6 weeks ago and I'm super happy with it. The large (1TB) solid state drive (SSD) has all the room you need for storage and it is perfectly silent...a nice change from my old constantly chattering hard drive. Was able to set it up without using a Microsoft account. You'll need to do some research for that work around. Was also able to install my old 3 x 5 SATA hard drive as a slave. drive. The space and cable are already there for this. This makes my old computer docs and pics available without moving it all. I simply access it thru Windows explorer. This thing boots up in about 30 seconds and there isn't too much bloatware to uninstall (McAfee, HP etc). You will prob want to add an external cd-dvd drive which I did. There is no internal and no space for one...no biggy. I'm generally not an HP fan but I do love this computer.

Good buy Win 11 ready
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Nice home machine with some serious specs. I'm not a gamer, so I don't need an extreme machine, but this allows multiple chrome windows open while edge is running on a second monitor streaming some TV shows. $K movies are handled well both locally and streamed. Almost no bloatware is a plus, but except for a plethora of assorted ports, there is no hard drive or optical drive. (Both can be easily added) 1TB SSD, Rizen7

Great configuration for the (sale) price.
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I was looking to upgrade my pc which I primarily use for business applications. I didn’t want an entry level configuration with the expectation I’ll get a longer life out of this pc. The speed is super fast for what I use it for. I have watched a live baseball game on the mlb network with no problems. I don’t game, so I don’t know how well it performs if you’re a Gamer. This pc has no cd drive which is fine for me. So plan to purchase an external if you need one. Overall, this is perfect for my needs.

A reasonably priced computer that's ready to work.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. Here is a work-horse computer with the right price and the right assortment of memory, CPU and a 1 TB NVMe hard drive to boot. There is a minimum of PUP (potentially unwanted software) and a maximum of get-up and go. My advice: Narrow down the computer you are interested from the BestBuy Internet site and then go to the store. They cannot possibly put all of the models they carry on display. I found that partitioning the drive with the Windows 11 disk tools was easy to do even though I am not a drive maven. A word about the CPU: It avoids big heating problems and cooling complications since it is a modern low wattage AMD cpu.

Read the details before purchase.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. The CD drawer image at the upper left side is where a CD player would go if it had one. It does not. I had to buy an external USB CD drive in addition to the expensive Pavilion Desktop. The unit performs very well as expected. Windows 11 seems to have placed all Windows 10 in a new place. Great if you need that challenge.

Q: QuestionYou suggested a customer upgrade the power supply if they wanted to add a GPU in the future, since this only has 180W........but to another person mention the 180W is "Set" and "Not exchangeable".....Can you please clarify, thanks.
Asked by RobFLA.
- A:Answer Thank you for the question. You can upgrade the power supply as a DIY project or professional technician. "Set" in this context means that it's how the model arrives on shelves. "Non-exchangeable" means that the unit cannot be returned if you make upgrades or changes to the configuration after purchase.

Q: QuestionWhere is the opening for the DVD/CD Rom on this tower?
Asked by Pat.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question, Pat! This model does not have a DVD/CD drive, which is why there is no opening/button in the picture. The case looks similar across all models in this Pavilion series, but only those with optical drives with have the DVD logo and an Eject button.

Q: Questionhow many cooling fans?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question, Mike! This HP Pavilion desktop has one fan. For enhanced thermals, I recommend stepping up to an HP Envy desktop to get three-side venting, two fans, and a larger CPU heatsink.

Q: QuestionDoes this PC come with an expansion slot for a graphics card?
Asked by pdauk.
- A:Answer Yes, it does. It has a PCIe X16 slot on the motherboard. Please be aware that the computer has a 180 watt power supply, so you'd need to upgrade that if you wanted to add a high-powered video card.
