The Most UNDERRATED Laptop Ever Made
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This is one of the most underrated laptops ever made. I came into Bestbuy wanting a generic Microsoft Surface and came out with this Spectre that is an incredibly powerful compact laptop. This laptop has so many features including CPU, GPU, and SSD tuning for better performance and battery. Intel i7 with 16GB RAM is plenty to run Adobe software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premier. You can even do light gaming with it. I've had it for 2 months and I feel like I haven't pushed it to its limits yet. The screen is beautiful and the touchscreen is very responsive. It comes included with a pen so you don't have to buy a separate pen. I didn't know I would use the tablet option so often, but it surprisingly works. I recommend this laptop for anyone who wants an alternative to a Macbook or Microsoft Surface. It's powerful to run photo/video editing software and has plenty of storage.

Overrated product. Strongly recmmend not to buy
Posted .Im very disappointed with this product I'm very disappointed with the product and the geek squad. I bought this laptop three years ago and used it occasionally for my presentations and other few stuff. All of a sudden, last week the blue screens came up and I took it to the geek squad. After a week of diagnosis, they said it was a motherboard issue and not fixable. When I asked them what’s the cause of the issue, they said “it’s a common issue for these versions of new laptops”. I’m still paying BestBuy credit for the remaining balance of this piece of trash. think twice before you decide to pay a lot of $$

Boot Device Not Found Hard disk (3F0) error
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Really disappointed with the product. I definitely didn't expect to see the persistent issue where I just keep seeing the Boot Device Not Found error (Hard Disk - 3F0). I get this error sporadically and I looked all over the web and it seems this is a common problem that most people face with HP products. I tried all the solutions suggested by HP troubleshooting guide like loading default bios and performing storage tests. Storage Tests when I run they pass. Don't know what the issue is but it's seriously frustrating, as i am working, out of nowhere it suddenly shows BSOD and shows that hard disk error. I am helpless now, don't know what I can do next. It hurts so badly as I spent 1700 bucks on this. Never buying HP products again and would never recommend anyone else to do that either.

Best laptop on the market
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Unlike anything I've experienced. I think this is way better than anything on the market, including Apple. The super crisp, tall OLED display, paired with the portability of a light, 13" 2-in-1 laptop, makes this perfect for the couch. Windows 11 experience is great in tablet mode, yet powerful enough to get work office work done.

Had same one in 2017...this one is better!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Had this same model back in 2017. Had issues like the power cord getting hot, and not charging. Needed larger capacity too, so I decided to replace the old one (that still works fine) since my self employment is heavily computer dependent. Such a good decision! I really really love the graphics. The screen is so much clearer and the colors vivid. The speed is much better than my other one, and with a 1TB drive, I should be fine for awhile. The keyboard lighting is odd though in that it isn't 'on' but 'comes on' when you start to type. I am sure you can change that somewhere, but I haven't had time to figure it out. At least I always get lighted keys in the dark as long as that first keystroke doesn't need to be accurate. The one thing I don't like, is some features in Windows 11. I didn't intend to change to it, pretty much ever! But alas it came with it, so I figured I would TRY to adjust. The big issue is that all of the tasks are on the bottom of the screen and there's NO WAY to change that absent some registry tinkering I am not willing to do. So I have 3 other computers which I have had tasks on the top for decades and I do feel this may end up making me not love this as much as I would otherwise. On a positive note, the power button on this computer is on the top of the machine right on the keyboard to the upper right, which makes it easier to both see and access to turn on--the old one was on the side and you would have to feel for it (and it wasn't very obvious) along with the volume buttons etc which always made it slow to get going. A big negative for this machine and the prior one, was not enough USB ports. There's only the 1 on the left. There are 2 "C" ports though, so I do use a "C" port hub which gets me a couple of more to hook up my mouse and my numeric key pad but having those onboard would have been better so don't have this hub thing hanging off and that I have to carry around a lot. It does come with a pen, which I THINK I will use a bit, so you do'nt have to buy a separate one. It's very light just like the other and the dark case makes it a little less evident when it inevitably gets dinged or scratched. So far in a month or so that I have had it, I am quite pleased.

Ok nice, but, a few issues.
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. The platform itself is fine in most respects - light, portable, small - maybe too small 13.5" Display @ 3000x2000 dpi is a bit much for this old man, powerful enough. Although, Windows 11 can be painful - pop-ups, crap-ware, security settings will be forthcoming. With the TPM encryption - fine, but I like dual boot: Ubuntu Linux LTS (for me), Windows for my wife. I'll probably wind up pulling out the original disk (SSD) and replace it We'll see. I turned off TPM and needed to go to Microsoft for recovery encryption keys (no boot). Also Windows wants $99 per year for Outlook and their "free" Email client App has issues - errors. Even Outlook won't run all my different E-mail accounts. Go figure. Hesitates (Windows) with the Logitech mouse. Weird. Also, for the money, it could use more inputs/outputs - only 1 USB-A, 1 USB-C, and one Thunderbollt-4. I wanted the aluminum frame and HP interchangeability. A little pricey - what isn't?

Q: QuestionWhich is better drive and why.. 1TB of Intel® SSD + 32 GB Intel® Optane™ memory OR 1 TB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD. (Lets say price of both is the same)?
Asked by JM.
- A:Answer Great question! The Optane memory isn't actually part of the drive-it's a cache designed to quickly provide data to the processor that's already been read from the hard drive. Between the two, I would say that the m.2 drive is better: It's smaller, it uses less power, and because it's directly connected to the motherboard, the signal path is shorter so it can transfer data more quickly.

Q: Questionhow long the battery last with standard usage
Asked by vanster.
- A:Answer My usage is standard (web browsing, reviewing files, writing, emailing, some Zoom), and I am getting at most 3.5 hours of usage - even while using battery saver mode. The battery life seems to be getting worse and I've had the computer fewer than 2 weeks.

Q: QuestionDoes 14-ea1023dx have a privacy screen built in? I've seen it built into Spectres recently, but this doesn't appear to have the button to activate such a feature.

Q: Questionwhat influences upload/download speed? What specification would determine optimum internet performance? My isp is providing 300mbps and I am only downloading/uploading at 44/44. What do I focus on when purchasing a new computor. My laptop is 7 years old
Asked by thomas.
- A:Answer Your upload/download speed is determined almost exclusively by the speed of your internet connection, although there are computer settings that can make sure you're getting all the speed your connection can deliver. I'd verify with your Internet provider that they're actually delivering the promised speeds-depending on how the service is provided to you, the number of people accessing the internet in your area or the distance from the company's hub can affect your actual speed. A new computer will probably make little if any difference to your connection speed.

Q: QuestionHi. I reviewed this model on your site and HP brochure. Brochure says there are quad speakers on 14-ea1023dx, you however state dual. Can you confirm if that is actually the same thing or is thia mdoel of 14" Spectre indeed wkth weaker speakers? Thanks.
Asked by Nixk.
- A:Answer Hi Nixk, thank you for asking, apologies for the confusion. Yes, the Spectre 14-ea1023dx has quad speakers. We'll reach out to Best Buy and ask them to correct their specifications.
