      It's just a bracket

There was a day and time that one could expect everything that is needed to be included in the packet. Unfortunately, those days are gone. Nowadays you need to purchase every little bracket, wire, and screw separately. I guess there is probably a study that was done as to how much of the "extras" were ending up in the landfill, so we can't complain about it much other than the price of the actual item never went down when they started separately packaging all of the various items.

Fit the SSD; only 2 of 4 holes matched drive bay.

I used this for a Samsung 860 SSD install into a 3.5" drive bay for my desktop PC. the SSD matched the mount perfectly. The outer mount screw holes, though, didn't have enough options to screw in to the drive bay in 4 places. I only used two mounting screws in the drive bay, because I don't plan on dropping my computer case down a flight of stairs. Anyway- the product would have been better if it had more mounting options for screw holes to match the screw points on my particular machine's drive bays.

Install a SSD where desktop hard drive goes

Used to mount an SSD drive in a standed hard drive slot in a desktop computer. You mount the SSD to the bracket then mount the bracket like you would a regular desktop size hard drive. Might not be able to mount the bracket if your case uses those tool-less hard drive rails like my case does. It fits in the slot, but the rails can't mount to the bracket so I just have it sitting in the slot. I had no problem mounting the bracket in a regular slot that most other cases have though.

Converted my desktop computer from a 3.5 in. HDD to a 2.5 in. SSD. The SSD mounted to this mount as expected. I did have an issue but it WAS NOT WITH THE SSD MOUNT itself. My computer didn't have a typical HHD cage and I was unable to mount the SSD Mount into the cage but I did manage to mount it in an unconventional manner. Don't let this review deter you from purchasing it because it does do exactly what it is meant to do by installing a 2.5 in. SSD replacing a 3.5 in. HHD

This product was deemed needed by the good people installing the SSD drive to my HP ENVY 700-074, at Best Buy Albany. All work as I was told it would. All have made a good computer great. I am not a fan of what passes for new now. This also goes for cars, cameras, phones, and TVs. The cloud is a rip off. They don't want anyone to own anything. Fight back. Upgrading a computers with drive as this one has is a good way to go.

I bought this when I was upgrading a family member's PC from a mechanical hard drive over to an SSD. I planned on using the adapter plate so I can mount the SSD in the same spot the mechanical hard drive was. The SSD fit perfectly, as it should. I wish I could have used it but the case that it was going into would not take the adapter plate, so I mounted the SSD without it. I kept the plate only because it would probably be useful for another case in the future.

Too small for my mounting bay brackets

So, this ‘SSD’ mount (this is just a 2.5” to 3.5” mount, so a regular HDD that is 2.5” would work with this too) is very short. It does a fine job as far as width goes, but if the mounting brackets that came with your PC case/PC have very spaced out holes (or pegs in my case), this won’t work for you. Of course, you can always just drill new holes in your mounting bracket, and this will work fine. Really regret buying insignia brand computer components... for $10, I can’t recommend this.

It works, but it is a TRAY adapter

This is not a "full" 5.25 adapter. It doesn't have the full size of a 5.25 device nor does it have all of the mounting points of a full size 5.25 device. Its does not work in various drive bay's, and will not work in some cases which utilize 5.25" mounting points this adapter does not have. As long as you understand it is an "adapter TRAY", you should be fine. Just need to know it isn't a full adapter.
