The picture does not do this justice. It is not only nice looking but also very well built. If you ever watched tanks the show about fish tanks on animal planet, that is the only way i can explain what the frame is made out of, just look at the frame of one of those tank stands, im serious, amazing quality. Probably would hold 800lbs no problem. The only cheap wood is on the sides and even that is still nice looking. Every thing is put together in the box there is 4 or 5 steps to putting this thing together that in itself is worth the price tag. It literally comes out of the box, if you can pull a ladder apart to stand on you can put this together. Slide three pretty heavy pieces of glass in and put the glass top on and screw it down with a couple of screws with handles built on them basically and thats it. Another nice thing is that you def can take this apart if needed and put it back together without destroying it. I literally cant believe how much effort they put in to make this strong and nice looking and easy to put together. I would say its only downfall is that this beast is heavy. I literally carried this in from my car (2011 jetta tdi) and only had to walk 15 ft total and i was spent. Hands down the best built piece of furniture i have ever seen no question about it. One other thing i forgot the first hole from the top is for a sound bar which is something i didnt realize i needed till i had it. My sound bar prior to this was behind my tv because it was too tall to be in front of it. A feature i never thought to look for. Plenty of room for any sound bar.

I love how easy this was to put together, I’ve never seen anything like it. I opened the box and hand carried piece by piece upstairs (it’s heavy because it’s high quality) the largest part of it folds out and into the stand then you just put the sides on and top it’s insanely to easy. Honestly I was trying to avoid having a TV stand. My game consoles were located in the back of my theater room but when I moved to 4K consoles I was having issues with the resolution as my extenders weren’t passing the signal. So instead of investing in more cables I found this Gem of a stand. I wanted something low profile so it wouldn’t take away from the clean look of the mounted TV and Center speaker. This stand is perfect I’m 5’9 and it comes slightly above my knee level. I read a review that said save some time and leave out the center shelf inside the cabinet for movies that person needs a percentage of my sale as I did just that and absolutely love seeing my video games through the doors and my Mortal Kombat book ends! The color combo of black and brown brings my theater room together as my seating is brown leather and all my speakers and the TV are black. I couldn’t imagine needing anything more and I wouldn’t want anything less. 100% perfect buy...for me!

Was one of only two stands the Best Buys around my area had that have a sound bar shelf built in. (Where do they think other folks are putting sounds bards unless their tv is mounted elevated above the stand top?) Stand frame design was a pleasant surprise when unboxing. The core frame comes pre-assembled and only needs secured with a couple parts. The shelf mounts, doors, and ends are equally easy to add to the piece. Assembled it not only looks nice but is sturdy and no wobble. Plenty (four) of back wall cutouts for cords too. The downside is the shelf spacing/height. Being a media or TV stand, one would think that it would be expected that people would use the shelves for at least a few movies or games as well as any game console or media equipment (cable box, dvd player, maybe even cable modem or router). Neither shelf behind the doors is tall enough for a dvd or ps4 game case unless you are laying them flat or with the long skinny edge down, meaning there is place for "stacks" of movies/games but not a nice "bookcase" or "library" look. Subtracting a star for this. PS4 has started lagging and misbhaving/crashing from time to time when placed in this stand while playing at least disc based games. Have not noticed it when using the PS4 for streaming. Opening the doors, it is very warm inside when the PS4 is lagging, so larger or better-shaped ventilation slots along the back would have been appropriate because no one wants to have to leave the stand doors open to game. Thankfully I do not have stereo equipment or other electronics (cable box even) inside the stand, only the PS4. Subtracting two stars for poor design of the back slots: while there are plenty of them, they do not perform the job when it comes to ventilation despite being rather large. Would recommend for the sound bar shelf and ease of construction, but not for a stand to place gaming consoles / warm electronics or movies inside of --meaning the shelves look nice but are somewhat pointless; yet look odd if left empty because you can see the cord / vent holes.

Thank you very much for reviewing this TV stand, I am sorry to read this did not work for your PS4 which is what you got this for, some devices can get hotter than other ones and also depends on the time of usage, however, please remember that Best Buy offers you a 15 day return period that you can take advantage of. To begin with when I received the first stand, it came in with a shattered shelf. I called Best Buy customer service and they told me I had to send the entire thing back. They couldn't just send me a new shelf because it was a boxed product. What a crock! The second one arrived with everything intact. Nice huh? Well, when we put it together we realized that the top shelf, which has to be screwed into place, was drilled wrong! In other words we could either screw the front part down or the back part down, but not both sides! Ahhhhh! So rather than send it back a second time, we just screwed down the front. OK now here's the real kicker- once the stand was set up we started putting our components in. Or at least we tried. The space between the shelves is only about 6 inches tall. So some of my components wouldn't even go on the shelf until I figured out how to shim up the bottom shelf enough to get a NEW home theatre receiver in there. I ended up using some felt stick-on pads I bought from another store and that solved that issue. Anyway if you have any components that stand more than 5 1/2 inches high they won't fit! Just beware. The stand looks really nice and is easy to put together, but the quality control at the factory and the poor design are really horrible. I would have given this no stars at all if the review would have let me.

I needed a TV stand that was big enough to hold my home theater equipment without looking industrial. There are many available, but most are very expensive and my budget was stretched after buying the TV, Blu Ray player and receiver. Knowing that Insignia was the in-house brand for Best Buy, I wasn't expecting too much. When I assembled it, I was very surprised. The frame is strurdy metal and comes fully assembled and packed flat. Even the doors are already fitted. All I had to do was pull it into shape and secure the hinges. The glass shelves slid into place easily. The top was heavy, but two of us handled it easy enough. This unit was built to last! The only problem is the glass shelves, which have a maximum load capacity of 30 pounds. This would not be a problem for most people, but I needed to put my turntable and receiver on the same shelf, a total weight of 46 pounds. In the end, I used the bottom shelf, supporting the load with some floor tiles left over from an old project. They are not visible, so no big deal. I did not need the middle shelf, so I left it out, providing more air flow for the receiver. The result is a very elegant look for my home theater for a moderate price. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone. Just beware of the weight limits.

I was looking for a stand for my new TV (actually just the components since the TV was going to be on the wall) and I liked the look of this on the site but none of my local stores had one on display. At this *relatively* low price (compared to the Magnolia-class stands) I was worried it was going to look cheap. I read the positive reviews here but was still skeptical. Boy was I wrong. First, this thing is really heavy. Like REALLY heavy. I had them load it in my truck and my wife and I wrestled it into the garage so we could take the parts up to my family room. There are 4 sheets of heavy tempered glass - 3 are for the inside shelves and one is the top. After getting those out, we pulled out the "base" and it practically assembled itself. It's basically folded up and you just pull the front away from the back letting the sides unfold. You put a couple of thumb screws in and it is built! I was dumbfounded. I was expecting the typical cam/pin system that seems to take forever to build. We then just slid the glass pieces in and we were done. This thing looks really good and I'm very impressed with the engineering, fit, and finish. Highly recommended.

I bought this online and was concerned I might have made a mistake since I did not see it in person beforehand. I have had mixed luck with these assembled TV stands in the past and was actually looking for a solid wood one first but they are pretty hard to find at a good price. Well, my speaker and xbox could not sit on the floor forever so I went ahead and purchased this TV stand. Turns out I was plesantly surprised. Assembly is very simple as a large part of it is already assembled and "folded", you will just need to unfold, put in some bolts for stability, insert the glass, side walls and handles and you will be done. The metal was a bit off center in some spots so I had to wiggle it around and push while inserting the screws for proper alignment but it was a minor issue. The stand looks great, feels sturdy and holds everythought you need.

Searched and searched for a unit to fit below my new 55 inch wall-mounted TV. And kept coming back to this one! Really happy with my purchase! The sleek look of the black glass top and dark wood go so well with the look of the TV above. Be sure to realize that this stand is HEAVY! Once delivered by UPS and dropped on the floor in front of my TV, I found that it took two of us to even turn over the box! If alone, you likely will need help in opening the box and assembling this piece of furniture! It's the very heavy and sturdy glass shelves that add most to the weight. But once assembled, the unit looks GREAT--certainly does not look like "do it yourself" furniture! Very happy with ordering (at my local Best Buy store), delivery service and especially happy with the final product! Would give this item 10 stars if I could!
