LTL Driver
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.perfect for overnight trips. I use it to Listen to The Siriusxm app. it’s loud enough to drown out all the background noises made by the radio-less 20 yr old Semi Tractor I drive each night.

Best sound of all the JBL's
||Posted .I have the JBL Charge 3 and the JBL Boombox as well as this JBL Xtreme2 and they all serve their purposes for me. The charge 3 is for personal on the go music (kayaking/biking), the boombox is for larger louder outdoor gatherings. The Xtreme2 is truly the best dynamic/full/clear sounding speaker, it's exceptional for listening to moderate to low volumes, where most personal speakers fail. We use it mostly indoors or outside on the deck if it's just my wife and I. You can actually hear the stereo separation which is unusual for these small speakers. The Unit is well built, nice looking (IMO), and lasts a very long time per battery charge. ALSO NOTE: I returned the first one I bought because I did the firmware update (which you can not revert back from) on the original Unit. This, IMO ruined the beautiful sound. I confirmed with Best Buy that you cannot go back to the original firmware once updated, and was advised to return the unit if I was unhappy with it, which I did. I then purchased another unit and left it alone, no updates, and it is now my favorite, best sounding bluetooth speaker ever. Although some people say the Xtreme2's volume doesn't go loud enough, I believe it's plenty loud, and NEVER distorts even at full volume. If I need Louder Volume, I have the Boombox for Ultra Loud Volumes, but It's the Xtreme2 that gives the most true, clear, full sound, and is the most used speaker of my JBL family.

JBL Xtreme 2 Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker review – The GadgeteerI am a fan of JBL Bluetooth speakers and the sound they produce as well as the build quality. In terms of build quality, this speaker is well built with the exception of the vulnerable speakers on each end that are covered by a soft membrane.

Q: QuestionI never owned JBl speakers before. I own Bose speakers though. I'm considering purchasing this speaker. Would you recommend this speaker over the first xtreme? Is this louder than the first JBL xtreme?
Asked by Domo707.
- A:Answer Yes would recommend you get the xtreme 2 it’s a newer model it’s slightly bigger and is a lot better and the speakers have been updated.
Answered by Timosis
Q: QuestionThis is not worth 300.00. Same battery and same wattage as the first Xtreme. In my most honest opinion I can say the bass on the Xtreme one is better and louder. The only difference between this and the Xtreme 1 is this has Connect+ and is IPX7
Asked by Jag918.
- A:Answer You clearly know nothing about audio, to those who want a real review: It is true the Xtreme 1 is louder by a few decibels on battery and by 1.5 on AC mode BUT it is way more distorted at higher volumes and it boosts bass way too much around 70 hz, it just sounds like a boomy distorted mess indoors. The Xtreme 2 goes about 20 hz lower and it is very clear and doesnt distort very much at high volumes. Its tuning is pretty flat compares to most JBL speakers so it is much closer to the actual recording. It is a really good indoor party speaker. And you dont have to worry about your battery dying after a few months of use like on the Xtreme 1 which many people had a problem with.

Q: QuestionCan I sync multiple of these JBL speakers together to play the same music with a single phone? We are planning a river float with 100+ people and I'd like to connect 3 of the speakers together (spaced out between the parties) so that everyone can hear.
Asked by Jordan.
- A:Answer Thanks for reaching out. Yes, the JBL Xtreme 2 has a Connect + feature where in you can connect multiple speakers at the same time and play the same music with a single Bluetooth device. If you have other questions or any inquiries, please submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

Q: QuestionWhich is better... The JBL Xtreme or the JBL Xtreme 2
Asked by JustCurious.
- A:Answer Thank you for your enquiry. The Xtreme 2 has JBL Connect PLUS Technology, an IPX7 rating (waterproof), and is slightly bigger and heavier - while the Xtreme has JBL Connect, IPX 5 rating (splashproof), but is slightly lighter. Both have the same output (2x20W), but the Xtreme 2 has a bigger frequency response. Q: QuestionCan this speaker be hooked to an I-pod, or is it only Bluetooth.
Asked by Mike66.
- A:Answer There is a 3.5mm jack on the back of the unit, where you can plug in devices that do not support bluetooth

Q: QuestionI purchased Xtreme 2 when it 1st came out and was disappointed that the overall volume was less than the 1st version but then Jbl released a firmware update version 1.6 that really helped so I just got a 2nd Xtreme 2 and dont see the update in the app????
Asked by kojoforever.
- A:Answer If we're talking about the JBL Connect app.,? Plug in the JBL Xtreme 2 and start the app. If an upgrade is available there will be a RED dot at the bottom of the screen where the gear is. If you tap the gear and go to the next screen, it will tell you what version you're running now and what version is available. Tap the (and I'm paraphrasing) "I have followed the Instructions" button and the app will start to download and install the new version. The process takes about five minutes.

Q: QuestionIs this stereo? Or mono?
Asked by Sam.
- A:Answer It is stereo. It is also directional. The red JBL emblem is the front. The sides are the bass.
