    Die Sister, Die!
Amanda Price (Edith Atwater) is an aging spinster with suicidal tendencies who keeps herself ensconced in the sprawling house she grew up in. Her brother Edward (Jack Ging) hires a nurse to watch Amanda, choosing Esther (Antoinette Bower), who quit the profession in shame after a scandal involving her marriage to a ninety year old client. He offers to pay Esther $25,000 on top of her salary if she makes sure the next time Amanda attempts suicide is a success. Edward says he wants Amanda out of the way so he can claim the entire family fortune, though it's clear that the Price estate hides more secrets than he's revealing. What exactly were the circumstances of their father's death? Why did favored sister Nell suddenly leave town the day of their father's funeral, and why hasn't anyone heard from her since? Why is Amanda suicidal, and why is she having so many horrible nightmares? The closer Esther gets to the answers, the less she wants to do with Edward's scheme. Meanwhile, the family doctor (Kent Smith) is harboring his own suspicions of the Price legacy, and when he starts investigating, he discovers that jealousy, greed and murder are at the root of the mystery. ~ Fred Beldin, Rovi

Cathy (Christine Moore) is a young woman who tries to overcome her history of childhood abuse at the hands of her demented mother. Engaged to marry the colorless Bob (Gary Warner), she is tormented by her mother's ghost and the spirits who haunted the brownstone home where she lived as a child. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

Two Cult Movies For The Price Of One

I bought this DVD double feature mainly to have a better print of Die Sister,Die! I assumed that both movies were hosted by Katarina Leigh Waters in a play Katarina's Nightmare Theater Host option. Only The Lurkers has the Katarina host option. Die,Sister Die! has no host option,so unfortunately you only get to hear Katarina give trivia on the first film(The Lurkers) since that's the only movie she hosts on this dvd. In fact I had heard Scorpion was ending this line of dvds,so that might explain why she only hosts the first movie. Aside from that you get two cult horror movies for the price of one and get a fair amount of extras(Original Trailers for Both films, trailers for other Scorpion Releasing titles, option of watching The Lurkers w/ the Katarina hosting bits or w/o them, and isolated musical scores for both movies). Then these are both restored to beautiful anamorphic widescreen transfers. Die,Sister Die! had previously been available as a public domain title in a full frame transfer only while The Lurkers had been out with the other Crown International titles, but in a less than stellar transfer. Now both movies are looking stellar in widescreen and are remastered from the original film elements! Also I should point out even though the features themselves are both listed as running 85 minutes a piece,The Lurkers is actually 94 minutes long. The running time on the back of the case and listed elsewhere as 85 minutes is a typo!
