Tried 2 and neither worked reliably.
||Posted .We installed the KDTM354ESS in a new lake home last fall. We didn't get to use it much at the end of the season, but focused on it in April and proved to ourselves that it was cancelling in mid cycle and waking up all by itself when no one was anywhere near it...cancel and drain or some other cycle. We contacted KitchenAid and had 5 (so far) warranty repair calls with no luck. After the 5th visit, I just bought a brand new unit from BB thinking our first unit was a lemon and it was time to just put it on the curb, so to speak. I picked up the new dishwasher...same exact model...from Best Buy last Friday and installed it. There was some minor mechanical damage to the frame when I inspected it, but it was no visible externally and I didn't think it would affect performance so I installed it and tested it out. After 5 days of testing, this one is going back to Best Buy. It starts up by itself and cancels out by itself. Something is screwy. It passes all of the diagnostic tests, but doesn't work in real life. I don't know what's wrong with this model, but I won't buy a third one. We will move to some other brand. Too bad since we have other KitchenAid dishwashers and have had good luck with them.

Not a great choice
||Posted .Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This Kitchenaid dishwasher has not been the best since we purchased. The cleaning has been OK... several dishes left spiked per wash cycle. We run it on the ProWash cycle and the ProDry and still have problems with dirty dishes. We even rinse our dishes before loading. The “clean” dishes almost look like they were steamed-not washed. I have tried cleaning the dishwasher, but frankly had no luck. For such a pricey appliance, I expected better washing. Our old dishwasher (15 years old) washes better than this one. Additionally, mold grows very easily inside this dishwasher. The inside began stinking only after 2 weeks. Now, we little gag when we open the dishwasher to add dishes. As I stated before, cleaning this dishwasher doesn’t seem to help cut the smell or increase the function. Besides, who has the time to clean the dishwasher after every use? Might as well hand-wash the dishes as it’s less work than taking apart this dishwasher for a thorough cleaning.

Good Dishwasher
||Posted .I'd say overall we've been pleased with the dishwasher. It is very quiet and it has great features to insure that your dishes are clean no matter how dirty they are. It is not difficult to use whatsoever. The only "negative" I'd give the dishwasher is that it is smaller internally than our previous dishwasher...meaning it doesn't hold as many dishes as our other dishwasher and I have to run it more frequently. I would not say that it is a big problem for us since we needed a dishwasher that would fit properly into the designated space in our kitchen and the performance of this dishwasher is far better than the performance of our last one. The installer was great and very professional and polite in explaining the installation and answering any questions we had. If possible, my recommendation is to wait for a sale before buying. We saved about $200 on it by waiting for a Black Friday sale to purchase.

Didn't Blow My Mind
||Posted .I replaced a 20 year old dishwasher, so I assumed this one would blow my mind with how it cleaned and dried my dishes. It's definitely an improvement, but I guess it's not as magical an experience as I was expecting. I'd still buy it again, even though rainbows don't shoot out of the door and my plastic containers don't dry. Call me when the magical unicorn edition comes out!

What a great dishwasher
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. My previous dishwasher bought in 2006 finally kicked the bucket and I decided on this KitchenAid as a replacment after reviewing all the brands. What an upgrade!! This dishwasher is near silent and does a great job cleaning the dishes. I don’t think my previous Frigidaire Gallery ever cleaned dishes this good. I love the fact that this unit has a heated dry option, in case I need it, but so far I have not used it. I normally run the dishes overnight and by morning the dishes are dry, except for a little bit of water on the tops of mugs. I definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a dishwasher.

Beautiful, wish it worked! Follow up
||Posted .I had an earlier review where I wasn't too happy with Best Buy or their customer service and that still stands. But as far as the dishwasher is concerned I am very happy. I don't need to load clean dishes into it in order for clean dishes to come out. I'm a "scrape and go" person and sometimes I don't run the dishwasher on a daily basis so food dries on, but this dishwasher has no trouble doing a beautiful job of cleaning no matter how long it's been sitting in there. It's what I expect from Kitchen Aid!

Super Quiet and clean
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. The thing we love most about this dishwasher is how quiet it is. Our old one requires you to have to practically yell to talk over it or blast the TV, but this one can be run immediately following a meal and you almost wouldn’t know it was on. It does take a long time (~2 hours or so) but does a great job and I’m glad it’s not using a ton of water or electricity. I like that there is a light and the word clean lit up to tell others that it is clean. It has a lot of nice adjustments for the racks to accommodate odd size dishes including the height of the upper rack. Dishes come out very clean and dry. It was highly rated by a variety of sources and we can see why. We are very happy with this purchase.
