They just don't make them like they used to

Which was fine since I upgraded to a mw with convection oven combo. But the old trim kit did not fit. So ordered the new one. The new one serves its purpose but the old one was made of real stainless steel. The new one is plastic with a SS veneer.

It doesn’t fit the microwave model it’s for.

The trim kit has directions for installation for the model number microwave It’s designed for. The diagram doesn’t match the model and screw holes referred to don't exist. When installed, the door won’t open completely. Now staring at a trimless microwave with no clue how to fix it and unhappy.

Doesn't Fit Kitchen Aid 2.2 Cu Ft Microwave

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though this trim kit was recommended for the Kitchen Aid 2.2 Cu Ft countertop microwave, it is clearly not compatible. The drilled holes in the back of the trim kit don't even come close to matching the screw holes in the back of the microwave, and I could not find any way to jury rig it to work with that model. Had to return it to store.
