    Synopsis

    Lady and the Tramp
Lady and the Tramp represented two "firsts" for Disney: It was the studio's first Cinemascope animated feature, and it was their first full-length cartoon based on an original story rather than an established "classic". Lady is the pampered female dog belonging to Jim Dear and Darling. When her human masters bring a baby into the house, Lady feels she's being eased out; and when Darling's insufferable Aunt Sarah introduces her nasty twin Siamese cats into the fold, Lady is certain that she's no longer welcome. The cats wreak all manner of havoc, for which Lady is blamed. After the poor dog is fitted with a muzzle, Lady escapes from the house, only to run across the path of the Tramp, a raffish male dog from the "wrong" side of town. The Tramp helps Lady remove her muzzle, then takes her out on a night on the town, culminating in a romantic spaghetti dinner, courtesy of a pair of dog-loving Italian waiters. After their idyllic evening together, Lady decides that it's her duty to protect Darling's baby from those duplicitous Siamese felines. On her way home, Lady is captured and thrown in the dog pound. Here she learns from a loose-living mutt named Peg that The Tramp is a canine rake. Disillusioned, Lady is more than happy to be returned to her humans, even though it means that she'll be chained up at the insistence of Aunt Sarah. Tramp comes into Lady's yard to apologize, but she wants no part of him. Suddenly, a huge, vicious rat breaks into the house, threatening the baby. Lady breaks loose, and together with Tramp, runs into the house to protect the infant. When the dust settles, it appears to Aunt Sarah that Tramp has tried to attack the child. That's when Lady's faithful friends Jock the bloodhound and Trusty the scottie swing into action, rescuing Tramp from the dogcatcher. Once Jim Dear and Darling are convinced that Tramp is a hero, he is invited to stay...and come next Christmas, there's a whole flock of little Ladies and Tramps gathered around the family. Beyond the usual excellent animation and visual effects, the principal selling card of Lady and the Tramp is its music. Many of the songs were performed and co-written by Peggy Lee, who years after the film's 1955 theatrical issue, successfully sued Disney for her fair share of residuals from the videocassette release. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

RATING FOR FILM NOT TERRIBLE NON RELEASE OF DVD PACKAGE And, this is the 2cd time I have attempted to input this review, first on 2-8-12 so I should have had the first review on this page. The beloved 1955 film. Have always loved the film, great music and of course the famous scene from the film. I have been complaining about this since Disney started this-NOT putting their classic films out in a straight DVD release the same time as the blu ray. Hey Disney, 1. I can NOT afford more expensive blu-ray discs & 2. I can NOT afford a blu-ray player I so hope Disney looses sales again because of this. Since the film begins and ends at Christmas so why wasn't this film released in November or December for holiday purchases? You are forced to buy this when you only have a DVD player & you get NO EXTRAS so you have a blu ray disc Frisbee. Completely useless and a huge waste of your money. Disney-some people can NOT afford blu ray players or more expensive discs, so RETURN TO RELEASING DVD'S.

First of all I love how the blu-ray artwork is a upgrade of the vhs and original dvd release from 1999 They vhs and original dvd cover always had the best cover artwork. This is by far the best Disney blu-ray cover. As for the blu-ray it's self it had a new Disney bonus feature show Walt Disney and growing up with dogs and how he came up with lady named after his dog who passed away. It's also cool how they show a dog that looks like lady is watching and listening to Walt Disney voice recorded telling about his dogs. As well as watching a original walt disney being recorded on video. The blu ray menu is not as good as beauty and the beast menu and bambi menu.

I know I said it before, but Best Buy rocks with their steel books. This classic movie looks great on Blu-ray you get Blu-ray and DVD in this awesome steelbook. They were even so awesome that they exchanged the first one I bought because it was a bit bent and crushed in the back. That just means they know how much people collect these steel bugs. Lady and the Tramp honestly I forgot about until the steelbook came out and I had a great time watching it a few times already. The quality is amazing. Great item you better grab one before they run out.

This movie is just beautiful, and full of heart. It was one of walt disney's original films during his life, and it does not disappoint. Disney has done it again with another amazing diamond edition bluray, looking forward to the next release. I am 19 years old and I am still in love with these classic full of heart movies, just like I was when I was a little kid. Disney will forever be classic.

This was one of my favorites as a kid. Was a little concerned spending the money on the special addition when not sure kids would watch it with all the state of art animation of today. Really thought they would loose interest but I was wrong. They have watched it over and over! Can’t go wrong with Disney, new or old!!

I don't know why I double dipped on this title. I already own the Diamond Edition. But I like the signature series covers. Theres no change in the audio and visuals of the last release. However, theres 6 new supplements. All the rest are carried over from the previous diamond release.

A classic tale of 2 lovers from different walks of life. Oh and it’s by Disney. For those of us who enjoy reliving and experiencing memories from our childhood, and those who want to share those memories with their children, this is a must own from Disney’s vault!

Well the movie is a classic so not much I can expand on there. I already owned the Diamond edition blu ray but sprang for this edition too because I am sucked for steelbooks. The artwork isn't that great but better than the last Lion King steelbook that came out.
