Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo C340-11 Chromebook. We are pleased to hear that the features and performance of the C340-11 Chromebook meets your computing needs so well. The lightweight Chromebook C340-11 boasts an ultraportable, 360-degree convertible design and all-day battery life. It’s just 2.65lbs and takes up less space than a piece of printer paper, but Intel processing gives it power that defies its size.

excellent rotation and issues review
Posted .Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5nice screen, quick too, although the MT3173c chip version is faster. the celeron has 2 cores, the MT3173c is a quad core. the lenovo c340-11 has a problem with screen rotation and going into tablet mode where the keyboard stays active, the touchpad stays active, and the screen does not rotate. same problem occurred on two different units tested side-by-side. amazing this obvious bug slipped past development and testing, especially when comments on the lenovo website clearly indicate screen rotation is a long-ongoing problem with lenovo chromebooks. will a chromebook replace a tablet? it is difficult to use a chromebook as a tablet replacement. chromebooks weigh twice as much as tablets, and a chromebook is not even up to the task of putting a link on the desktop. excellent starter computer: definitely get one of these when you - do not need a computer to do any more than read email, use web apps, and visit websites. - want to put it by the couch to play media from the web to chromecast. - do not need a tablet replacement. - want a secure interface to the web. - want to give your kids a computer they will soon outgrow. - want to challenge your kids to figure out how to do things a real computer can do. - want your kids to be dependent on data cloud services, companies and their web apps. - do not want your kids to learn programming. excellent machine, for these purposes.

Poor WiFi and Broken Key
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality1 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I purchased this for my daughter to use for online school back on March 24th. She is on the other side of our ~1500 sq ft house and she had trouble picking up a WiFi signal on the laptop requiring me to get an extender (which is frustrating given that none of our other devices have had any issues). The extender worked and she was able to get a solid signal and connect to do her online schooling. Then this morning, she came out holding the volume down button. My wife and I both tried to fix it, but the one side would not stay in place and would constantly lift back up. When I inspected it further, the top right piece was broken and the key would continue to lift up and out of place. The computer has been mostly good (ample USB-C ports and battery life seems to be decent to good), but I cannot excuse the issues with the WiFi range and the build quality on the keyboard seems to be lackluster.

Scratched up, major wifi connectivity issues
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Really disappointed with this purchase and returned it. This was an "open box excellent" which stated it should have been in new condition but it had many scratches. Not the nice gift I thought I was getting to give my daughter. Also, it had major issues connecting to wifi and no other device I own has that issue. I called Best Buy support to remedy this and got some direction, but it didn't help at all. Chromebooks function via wifi and having an issue with its main method of operation was really bad. Maybe the device new works well, but this was bad all around.

Price and Performance, check! check!
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The Lenovo C340 is a really good first Chromebook for most types of use. Telework, education, a second computer, etc. The touch screen is bright and clear. It wakes up within a second and boots within seconds even when completely powered down. Most every Android app runs well on the Celeron N4000 with 4gb of RAM. I use cloud storage so the 32GB eMMc storage was fine. Most of the time I telework by accessing a remote desktop in my office or a virtual desktop at my data centers. I have 300mbs Internet in my home and the internal Wifi adapter nearly achieves all of that performing a Speedtest. The weight is perfect at just over 2 1/2 pounds. I have tested many Chromebooks and high end Laptops. When you go up in price for the ultra nice features the higher Chromebook prices compare similarly to Windows 10 laptops and MacBook Airs. It is difficult to pick a Chromebook over a Windows 10 or Mac OS device when the price is the same. That brings us back to the Lenovo C340. Often available around $300, it is an excellent starter Chromebook when you may not ever need another. Chromebooks are best used for Internet, video streaming, normal office suite software and connects each year more seamlessly with the Google ecosystem. My phone, messaging, email, apps, laptop, browser bookmarks all follow me on any device I log into. I was not disappointed in any way. Chromebooks are snappy fast and easy to use for device management. Lastly, the fit and finish on the C340 model is stellar. Aluminum for strength and a glossy screen with well above average clarity and contrast. The C340 does not remind me of a cheap laptop at all. It may be on the smaller side for some owners but I see this as a great starter laptop or a second laptop if someone already has a desktop computer or higher end laptop and needs a lightweight one with enormous battery life as a backup. Yes, the battery life is impressive. I charge it up on the weekend in a couple of hours and it lasts me all week of off and on use. By Friday, my battery is seldom below 40 percent when I am ready to charge it again. It doesn't seem to drain when sleeping like older Intel processors did. It still blows my mind when I wake the device up on a Tuesday and it says 77 percent and 16 hours to go. Obviously battery life depends on use but it is impressive when purchasing I was hoping for 10 to 12 hours of dedicated use and see more than 10 hours to go still after a couple days of use. As you can see, I was very pleased with this purchase. My last Chromebook was a $600 HP 2n1 I got on a Christmas sale for $400. It was flawless and was configured with an Intel I5, 8gb of RAM and 64GB of storage and an even higher resolution screen. I gave the HP to my son who is using it as his main computer. The Lenovo C340 is a 11 inch version of the HP. Nice quality all around in a slightly smaller package and a good price even when not on sale.

Great basic Chromebook
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have been looking for a Chromebook for a while now. Google's flagship options are out of my price range - even the new Pixelbook Go at $650.00. This Lenovo Chromebook fit all of my criteria - touchscreen with keyboard, great price, good battery life, and ease of use. It's very simple to adjust brightness, volume, and switch between apps. I don't need Ultra HD screen resolution or tons of storage. My usage is primarily web surfing/shopping, listening to music, e-mail checking, and watching YouTube videos. I especially like that I can unlock this with my Lenovo Moto G7 phone and sync them - apps, search history, photos, etc. My only minor criticism is the fact that certain apps don't work on this - Bank of America, and my Fantasy Football apps display very small and centered on the screen.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo C340 Chromebook. The C340 Chromebook is compatible with Google Play Store APPs. Not all APPs available at the Google Play Store are formatted for larger screen Chromebooks. This is a function of the APP provider.

Great small chromebook for travel
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Was in the market for an 11.6 inch Chromebook for travel purposes and found this was available online. I don't want to carry a bigger laptop so this fits my needs perfectly, combined with its 2-in-1 design. I'm not working in any industry that demands a powerful laptop so this is acceptable. I just wish that Chromebooks had more hard drive space and more power so I wouldn't need an SD card or flash to watch movies, but for travel, this is great. Definitely consider this for your next purchase.

Q: QuestionCan You or Can You Not Use External Drive? Am totally confused. There is a question here whether you can use an external CD/DVD drive. An apparent owner of the machine says yes, she/he has one. But the Lenovo rep says no. So what is the correct answer?
Asked by Ellienyc.
- A:Answer Technically you can use an external CD/DVD drive to archive files, like any external USB-based hard drive. There are some major limitations to using a Chromebook external DVD or CD drive. Music files and commercial movies are not usable, as the drivers for these playable files, cannot be installed on a Chromebook.

Q: QuestionI actually have the C-340 - 2 in 1 - 15.6 model. I seem to have a bad habit of spilling coffee on keyboards. I have ruined 2 laptops in this manner. My question in "is the keyboard on the C-340 spill proof?
Asked by RodeoPro.
- A:Answer Probably no better with coffee than other computers but I have also spilled coffee on my previous computers and learned that you should not flip the computer over to drain it out (I reflexively try to try to dump it out by flipping the key board over in hopes it pours back out before ruining the computer) my IT guys tell me that isn't good. Most computers have an internal tray or something to drain away safely and dumping over might do more damage than the original spill itself,,,, You can also buy keyboard cover to maybe prevent it from spilling on?
