Keyboard is good, track-pad is nice to the touch, build quality is decent, the processor is really good. BUT, the reason I’m giving three stars is because it falls in one of the most important features in a laptop, the SCREEN. The screen is too dimmed! I had to set the brightness close to 90% in order to be sort of comfortable. To bring some perspective, my Acer Aspire 5, at 30% of brightness kind of match the level of this laptop at 90%! And the color accuracy is not good neither. So, again, the performance of this device is very good for the price, but I feel really disappointed about the screen. In addition, the RAM is soldered, so won't be able to upgrade that part. Thanks for reading.

Lenovo tech support they do not have the experience that you expect from big name as lenovo. they go through a list of steps written in front of them but as real tech support, so do not expect to have real experienced person to help you "you will notice that just if someone with basic knowledge". I had to replace three of Ideapad 5 just in less than two weeks because of hardware issue , flackery screen and black screen. I used thinkpad for years without any problem but the ideapad 5 this one you have to expect anything anytime.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15 Laptop, model number 81YQ0009US. Since the issues you mention occurred on multiple computers, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

The build quality is very good for the price point, and the Ryzen 4700u processor is a beast. The only downside is the screen, that is about the only place where Lenovo cut corners.

Did a lot of comparison shopping and decided on this computer. As the online reviews stated, this AMD processor is faster than the new I5's and most of the I7's (except for the newest generation I7's), but at a price point comparable to the newest I5's. I considered the Acer Swift 3 with the same processor but chose the Lenovo because the reviews showed that the Lenovo screen is significantly brighter than the one on the Acer. The screen is indeed bright and I have no issues seeing the display outdoors on a bright day which was a stated issue with the Acer. I am very happy with this laptop.
