Linksys AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender
A: Had a similar situation, with a total Power Failure, (obviously Wi-Fi Router was down also). When Power was restored the Router was connected to Internet (via Cable Modem) but the Range Extender was Not connected to the Router. Reset Power to both the Router & Extender again, to No Avail. Unplugged the Extender, from the hallway and plugged it into an outlet next to the Router, in the Family Room, and the Extender came back Online. Moved the Extender back to the Hallway, and it reconnected fine. Did Not have to go thru a complete Reset & Re-Install. Hope this helps..
Q: How many square feet does the 6350 cover?
A: Hi Ron. Our Linksys RE6350 range extender has a Wi-Fi range that can cover up to 7500 sq. ft.
A: Hi Gabe24. You can extend your router's Wi-Fi coverage to your garage using the Linksys RE6350. Just make sure to use the Spot Finder feature during setup, to find the best location for the range extender.
Q: My upload speed is slow on my WiFi will this boost the up load speed from .98 to 3. Plus
A: Hi, Sunshine. The Linksys AC1200 Range Extender features fast data transfer speeds up to N300 + AC867 Mbps and can also focus the WiFi signal directly to your connected devices for optimal performance, thanks to Beamforming Technology. However, please note that the maximum performance derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specification. Actual performance can vary, including lower wireless network capacity, data throughput rate, range, and coverage. Performance depends on many factors, conditions, and variables, including distance from the access point, volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, operating system used, mix of wireless products used, interference, and other adverse conditions.
A: Hi, ColoradoMike. You can cascade multiple range extenders to the router. However, we recommend using up to three extenders only as the signal deteriorates the more it gets extended.
Q: Does this work with the MR7300 series router?
A: as extender receives wifi signal and rebroadcasts it, it should be able to extend signal for any functioning wifi producing router
Q: Will this help with buffering on streaming services?
A: it should help in so far as a properly extended network should have the full available bandwidth available at the router, via ethernet or wifi, at a distance from router. Therefore the download speed should make buffering less necessary.
A: The Range/Distance on the AC1200 is about 25 to 50 ft, depending on direct Line-of-Sight or Obstacles (& their density), in the path of Line-of-Sight. If you can place the Range Extender about 20-25 ft. away from Router, heading towards the Washer, and if the Washer is about 20-25 ft. from the Extender, then it should work OK. The Range Extender does support both the 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz Frequencies. But, be aware that the Range Extender will Not be the exact SSID/Name as your Router. It will be the SSID with "_EXT" appended to the orignal SSID/Name. Hope this helps.
