    Synopsis

    Love Jones
What do you do after love at first sight? That's the question posed in this romantic comedy-drama set in Chicago. Darius Lovehall (Larenz Tate) is a novelist who is giving a reading at the Sanctuary, an upscale club presenting jazz and poetry to a bohemian clientele. Shortly before his set, he meets Nina Mosley (Nia Long), a woman who is a gifted photographer, despite the fact that she just lost her job. They exchange small talk, and Darius makes his interest clear when -- on the spot -- he retitles a love poem "A Blues For Nina." A mutual attraction is sparked between them; soon Darius finds Nina's address on a check and shows up unannounced at her apartment, a visit resulting in a photo session that turns seriously sexy. So far, so good, but neither Darius or Nina are sure where to go next after this promising start. She's just gotten out of a relationship and isn't sure if she still cares for her old boyfriend or not, while Darius' buddies read him the riot act for wanting to give up his freedom so early on in the game. Love Jones was the debut feature for African-American writer and director Theodore Witcher; Isaiah Washington, Bill Bellamy, and Lisa Nicole Carson lead the supporting cast. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

My Favorite Movie of all time!!!

This is my all time favorite movie..I've watched it over and over again..I know the words verbatim!! Great cast (Larenz and Nia) wish they'd do more movies together. It's a grown up movie, with a cast that actually shows African Americans actually doing something with their lives, instead of shooting, cussing and fighting! Great storyline, and overall great movie. Great soundtrack too!!!!

I love love love this movie . I truly miss Nia Long and the chemistry between her and Lorenze Tate is phenomenal. I watch it every valentines day but I don't have a DVD player anymore so I had to have this. Low rating on cinematography bc it I is a little older. Which is also why I have extras a low rating. VHS's didn't really have extras in that time.

The movie was kind of too slow for me. It also didn't have good quality that may be because of how old the movie is. It was kind of hard to get into it maybe something to watch a couple of times to fully enjoy. It is a classic movie so I would recommend it to a friend based on the review I've received from friends.

With Larenz Tate and Nia Long at their best, you will fall in love with their chemistry on screen. If you enjoy that light smooth jazz, mixed with poetry and a script that just brings everything together, than this is the movie for you.

This movie is a great movie about falling in love and staying in love. It has a coffeehouse/artistic/creative arts thread throughout. Love it.
