This Mohu Sail antenna has a FirstStage amplifier located right at the antenna, where the signal is at its best to help deliver a crisp, clear picture.
Q: How is it mounted on the roof. Does it come with attachments. How high should it be mounted?
A: Comes with bracket like Dish or DirecTV if your cutting the cord and your satellite antenna is in the right area for your signal you can mount it there and use the satellite cables to got to all TVs
Q: How many TV's can you run? Do you need power for each TV'?
A: The Sail can support up to 4 TV's and in some locations, depending on signal strength, as many as 6. You do not need power for each TV.
Q: does a metal roof affect reception? Are trees a problem?
A: The metal roof isn't a problem, but trees will be. My yard is full of trees, so I found a 20 foot gap and angled through the gap. I ended up with 92 channels.
Q: Is this amplified? Do I need to plug it in for power?
A: The Sail has a built in amplifier and there is a power injector that you can power with either the USB port on your TV or a wall plug.
Q: What is the side of antenna I should be aiming
A: The front of the curved portion of the antenna should be facing the direction of the towers however the antenna will pull in signals from all sides. While the antenna will pull in signals from all sides if you think of the antenna as a tennis racket you know that you make the best connection when you hit the ball with the string of the racket and not with the sides. Same thing applies to antennas.
