It works!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a licensed massage therapist and I am exposed daily to lots of people and germs. I bought this for my massage room. I wanted to be able to still feel safe while giving my services to my clients when I was ready to take down my mask mandates during their visits. After 4 days of working in the room I can now say it really works! My clients are also loving how they can feel safe during their visits and have said they can feel the air quality in the room have changed. I will be buying this brand for my home too. Thank you to Molekule for making this FDA approved purifier and providing us with a safe way to continue to work during these times!

Fresh air comes at a high price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Molekule Air Mini is a very interesting air purifier device. The rated room size is 250 sq ft and the room that I have it in is my master bedroom, which is about 320 sq ft total including the bathroom and walk in closets. So it’s a little bigger than what this device is rated for, but I have noticed a big improvement in the air quality over all. My allergies are really bad this time of year and I am usually sneezing quite a lot, but after using this for the past week, I haven’t been sneezing quite as much, even though the outside air pollen count has remained pretty much the same. I am impressed with this unit and my wife agrees with me. She has also noticed that the air quality seems much better. The operation and set up of this is very simple, you plug it in and turn it on via the recessed circle on the top. It’s touch sensitive and easy to use, but also easy to miss. It is not marked very well, and you can easily hit the wrong area. It’s dead center and you just have to get used to hitting the spot. Each tap will cycle through the 5-speed fan and the first two are very quiet, speed 3 is a little noticeable, 4 is loud and 5 sounds like a jet engine at full throttle. I keep mine on 3 and we enjoy the slight white noise at bedtime. The filter inside is not a standard HEPA filter, but a PECO filter. This is their proprietary technology and is uses UV light to kill bacteria, viruses, mold, allergens, and VOCs that are pulled through the device. I have no way to measure this scientifically, but they do have a lot of information on their website of the technology and how it works incase you were interested. https://www.molekule.com/papers This little device is easy to move around, and you can easily take it from room to room if you wish and it seems to take a short amount of time to fully filter out a sealed 250 sq ft room. From my observations, roughly a little over an hour according to my unscientific method. Replacement PECO filters are $75 for a filter that lasts 6 months or you can subscribe for $99 a year for two filters. The Molekule app was not working properly for me. The set up seems pretty straight forward to set up the Wi-Fi connection. Following the prompts you get to the actual connection and you have to hit the “help” link so that you know that you have to set up a “new” Wi-Fi connection named: Molekule, WPA2, and Molekule as the password. Then you get to a section where you can put in the Wi-Fi information that you want the Molekule to connect to….only for me it bounced between “connection successful” to this connection could not be made. After many resets (holding down the Molekule’s power button for 10-15 seconds until the lights danced) I still was unable to connect to it. I finally gave up. I am not sure what functionality the app gives, but I don’t see the point if I leave the device on all the time. I understand that this device has been out for a while so the app features should be ironed out. That being said, I am not using an apple device and it does state that it supports an iPhone 5 and higher along with Android phones and it could be my Linksys Velop whole home mesh Wi-Fi system is not compatible either. Pros: Clean air sleep better quiet operation slick, simple design Cons: Price expensive filters every 6 months app not working for me

Fresh Air at a Cost
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I promptly received my Molekule Air Mini from the manufacturer and it comes in a very well thought out and very sturdy box which let me know that this machine while compact, it is also well thought out. The shape and design, with attached handle for easy transportation and movement of machine from area to area, reminds me of the no frill design of another famous European-inspired company. The good news is that this is not a complicated, but easy set-up right out of the box. The main thing is to figure out how to twist and separate the top from the bottom so as to take off the plastic wrap around the filter and then just place it within the interior confine of the air cleaning machine. There is an app and I downloaded it from the Google Play store since I have an android, Samsung, smartphone. The app did not have a very high rating, it does not do a lot, but you can control the speed of the machine from 1 to 5 on it, it recognizes your Wi-Fi network on it, you can change your password through it, it gives you a filter status on it, you can activate filter auto-refill through it, and it does have the serial number and details about your device. Once you download the app to your phone, you hold it close to the machine to let it sync up and that is really most of the work. So, I received this a week ago today and have had it running non-stop in my master bedroom. The higher the speed the loader the sound, so if you use the higher settings that might be good for days when not sleeping, but I leave it at 2 during the nighttime and even at that this could be used as a white sound machine, too. It is spring and things are blooming here in Kansas, so pollen is in the air. While I do not have allergies, my husband is affected and I believe that he is less affected since we have started using this. I can tell you that I feel a cool, freshness to the air. This machine is meant to handle about a maximum of 250 square feet and my master bedroom is probably 20' x 15' which is slighter greater than the recommended area to use it in. Additionally, I have a trey ceiling so a good part of the ceiling is at 11' or so. I did call in and speak with a customer service person because Iwas not sure if the company had already registered me for the warranty before they shipped it. The good news is that even though we are in this COVID-19 pandemic, someone in the U.S., I believe, answered quickly, did the warranty registration with me and also answered my question on the benefit of auto-filling vs. buying 1 filter at a time. I was told that the life of these filters is about 6 months. If you decide to activate auto-fill you get 2 filters for $99 vs. 1 filter for $75. That is why I took a picture of my filter after 7 days to see how dirty it was, which it is not. Of course the filter is dark colored, but I could not see anything clinging to it either. Even though this is the smallest and least expensive of the Molekule Air Purifiers, in final analysis, this machine has a MSRP of $399 and is the benefit worth the price. We are living in a time where getting the air clean is very important, perhaps life saving so we must each determine what our own cost/benefit limit is. I will say that it does its job well, is easily transportable, easy to set up and monitor and control through it app on your phone, and it appears easy to maintain. The reason that I deducted 1 star is because of the price.

Premium air cleaner - great for allergies
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.. I suffer from spring allergies and was looking forward to finding out if a premium product like Molekule Air Mini would help. Short answer. Yes. I keep it in my bedroom and the air is noticeably fresher and I sleep better. But what makes it worth the cost? Quality. It is even packaged well. The construction is solid. It feels like it could take a knock or two. It is easy to set up, no tools required. Twist the top and it comes off easily to replace the filter. Even the power cord is well engineered, it has an out of sight out of the way wrap around base so you can have just the length you want. The cord is not detachable. Wish it was, but then it would not be as well integrated. The controls on top are simple. Tap. It's on. Tap again to set the fan speed. You do have to be a bit patient, rapid taps confuses it. And it looks good, clean lines. Except for one thing. Apparently they decided folks would want to carry this thing from room to room and picking it up from the bottom would be too hard. So they tacked on a handle on the side. It's as if there were two separate design teams. Yes, the handle is convenient. Yes, being heavy wool it's flexible, less like to break, but it's also more likely to stain. And in my opinion it's ugly. Shrugs, would take off half a point if I could. I can not comment on how well it kills germs or not, but I can say since its been on I haven't gotten sick. Yes, I know that wasn't scientific, it was mostly my bad humor. What I can comment on is how well it actually can clear a room of bad odors. I tried it in a couple of rough places (kitchen, dusty basement and pets) and I was impressed with how well it worked. It does have 5 different speeds, but in practice level 5 has the sound of a jet plane taking off so I used that if I am out of the room and can close some doors. While sleeping I had to put it down to level 1. After a few nights of getting used to that, raised it to 2 which is my personal white noise level. If the tv is on, 3 is okay. Five stars for good design, premium construction, and works well in maintaining air quality in the room.

Clean air is important
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Molecule Air Mini is a great device for filtering the air. If you are a person that that is sensitive to particles in the air; or, live in a polluted city, you cannot go wrong with using this unit. This is the smallest of three different Molekule products sold. This unit uses PECO (Photo Electrochemical Oxidation) technology is supposed to destroy pollutants 1,000 times smaller than a traditional HEPA filter. This is described on their website as the ability to break down pollutants at a molecular level, including VOCs, bacteria, mold, viruses, and allergens. This unit is for a smaller area like a bedroom or study up to 250 sq. ft. What’s in the box: - The Molekule mini, - One filter, - a bag for storing the unit, and - a manual. The unit comes well packaged and is built very well. It is easy to get it set up and working. All you need to do is: - push down and twist off the top, - lift the cover, - remove the filter and remove the plastic bag surrounding the filter, - replace the filter, - put the cover back on, and, - plug it in. If you read the manual, it states the unit does not connect to Wi-Fi or have an app available. This is false as the unit does have an app and connect to Wi-Fi. I downloaded the app and connected the device to Wi-Fi. There is nothing on the app that is not available on the unit itself. I would say do not waste your time on the app. I also found the unit had a difficult time maintaining the connection. You control the device from the center button on the top of the unit. There are 5 settings and you can see which setting is chosen by the light on top of the unit. On setting 1 (39 dBa), you can barely tell it is on. On setting 5 (62 dBa), it is fairly loud but could be great white noise for sleeping. I personally like whit noise for sleep. The filter status is also displayed. Green = good, flashing orange and the filer is nearly used up, and flashing red means the filter must be replaced. Per the manual, the unit will not operate once the filter needs to be replaced. The filter is supposed to last approximately 6 months depending on usage. The filter is $75 on their website. You can also enroll in a filter replacement subscription for $99 a year. This is definitely the cheapest option. I have used it for a little over a week so far. Honestly, it is hard to really know if the air is cleaner or not. You just have to trust the science. I feel better knowing my air is cleaner. Check out their website (https://molekule.com/technology) as there is much information on the technology and various test reports. Considering how important air quality is, I recommend this unit.

High tech air filtration at a high price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Given the current circumstances we are in with the pandemic, what better reason to be in the market for a device that not only will clear the air of pollutants, allergens, smoke, dust, etc., but also claim to also filter and destroy airborne viruses; mind you these claims are backed by test and study documentation provided on their website. Molekule developed and uses their patented Photo Electrochemical Oxidation (PECO) technology which, according to the studies provided, breaks down and destroys pollutants using this nanotechnology that most filter cannot. We have air purification devices throughout our house, which also doubles as an in-home daycare, to not only clear the air of smells but also provide a cleaner environment so the Molekule Mini was a welcome addition to the purifiers we were using before. A few things I really like about the Molekule is not only is it discreet and have a contemporary look to it, it’s also very quiet and easily portable between rooms using the strap on the side. It’s small enough to set on a counter or on the floor without being a distraction to your room décor and the Mini version claims to be suitable for spaces up to 250 square feet, such as a small bedroom or living space. It was very easy to set up and connect to the smart phone app where you can monitor your air quality or control the device. Unfortunately, it does not link to smart speakers, yet, but I would bet that will be an option in the future. After set up, I could tell within a day that our air smelled cleaner and have noticed in the first few days of use that my allergies have not been as bad in the morning when I wake up. Besides the lack of smart speaker controls, my only other gripe with the Molekule brand is the price point which I feel would be hard to justify for folks on a small or fixed income as there are many other air purifiers on the market for much less, although I’m sure they don’t filter as well nor have this much technology and documentation backing them. However, can you put a price on clean air or trying to prevent allergies or viruses floating around in your living area? Molekule definitely set the bar for small home use clean air devices so hopefully other companies will catch up soon so there’s more competition out there for this tech.

Great looking unit, but very noisy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve not had an air purifier before so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The setup was simple and I had it running in minutes. The first night that I did run it, I could certainly tell a difference. There a different pressure if you will in my room next to my bed. I generally only run it at night as I also sleep with a CPAP. The filters for them do seem a bit pricey, though they only need replacing per the manual, every 6 months. It’s easy to replace as well and will take roughly a minute to do. I like the look of it too as it’s quite sleek and minimal in its design. Since this is just the Mini model, there is no app control which is disappointing, even though in various bits of material I’ve read, there is WiFi built in to the device, they just don’t have it enabled. This may be due to a move to push folks to the more expensive model the Air Mini+. That model also includes other features such as auto-sensing with the particulate in the air as well as the Auto Protect mode, which this model lacks. It’s quite large so ensure you have the space. Its dimensions are roughly 16-18” tall, and about 8-10” in diameter. If you want this on a nightstand, you’re going to have to move things. The main thing I really want to touch on here is the noise level. Anything above 2 in a small room is more or less unbearable. My room is roughly 12x13 with a 8.5’ ceiling and is likely the most ideal for this potential of this unit. On setting 1, I can hear the fan, but it’s not something that’s too distracting. At setting 2, I’d venture the DB is around 30-35, but setting 3, that’s easily approaching 45-50 DB. I work in I.T. and I have a knack for fan noise and I can say, this thing at 3 is louder than my self-built PC with all fans running at maximum. 4 and 5 are just so unbearable that I’m not even sure why they’re even options. At this point you’re approaching DB levels of the average conversation. Something this loud should definitely not be marketed for a 250sq feet but for something at the very least, 500 or greater where the unit is a good distance away. This really is a deal breaker for even looking at adding another unit or even the larger Molekule Air system that supports 700sq feet. Because of the noise level alone, I don’t think I could recommend these products. Not to mention the disabling of the WiFi capability to push people to the Mini+ I can’t fathom that it costs $100 more just to turn it on. If you’re in the market for something to purify the air in your home or in a particular room, look for something that doesn’t sound like an industrial fan in a warehouse.

Crisp Clean Air in a Small Package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Getting Fresh Air is always a great feeling, but unfortunately we don’t always have that in our homes because air seems to get trapped and recirculated in there. I was very interested in the Molekule Air Mini as I think it’s something that could be a benefit in our life but I wondered if I would notice it - so far it has definitely been of great use! LOOK & FEEL: - First off, the Air Mini really is a clean modern looking device. It was meant to be out in the open so I really appreciate how Molekule made it look like it deserves to be out. No harsh angles, no weird colors, just a nice clean round design that will look like a nice addition to your room. - The build of the Air Mini has some cool aspects. The cloth handle is very sturdy and easy to use for moving around. And I know this is small, but the chord management is very clever for this. You can easily wrap the chord underneath the Air Mini so you can use as little or as much chord as you need. Very nice trick! - I also really like the 360 degree design. This way it sucks in air from every direction and shoots it out in every direction. It’s a nice way to ensure no blend spots and create an even airflow. - The Air Mini covers 250 square feet so was meant to be in a bedroom or office, or brought alone with you on travel. I really like how portable it is and the size. It’s nice how you can easily set it on a table or shelf and it isn’t too heavy or large. Plus its nice how it does not take up any floor space and you don’t have to lug it around with its light weight design. HOW IT WORKS: - Once setup, its pretty much smooth sailing from there! There is a button on top you tap to switch from levels 1-5 and if you take the button for 3 secs it will go into standby mode. Molekule advises you run the device 24/7 as it does not use much energy and I’m sure that’s how it works best. - The fan modes are nice and versatile. Overall the sound output is smooth and soothing, not clunky at all. Molekule recommends using the Air Mini on at least Level 2 at all times which is quiet enough where it isn’t very noticeable but still provides a subtle fan noise. Level 1 is very quiet and Level 5 is loud but powerful in its output. I think many who sleeps with fans at night would like level 5. - The main thought I had was “Will I notice a difference?” And I can truly say yes. You can smell that the air coming out of it is extremely fresh and crisp air. I know that sounds weird but once you experience it you will know exactly what I mean. After some use I can sense that the room the Air Mini is in has noticeable fresher & cleaner air then the rest of the house. Specifically, those with allergies have been able to notice a difference in their breathing and comfort when they are in the room of the Air Mini! CONS: - Let me first say the Molekule isn’t necessary to use this device. The only App benefit I see is to remotely control the Air Mini and check the level of the filter. It’s a very clean nice looking app but there is no Google Home / Alexa integration or features like scheduling the levels. - Unfortunately, the App setup was the biggest downfall of this device. It should be simple and straight forward but it required me to trouble shoot a bit and re-add the device after figuring it out the first time. - Obviously, the nice about the App is that these things can be fixed! The Molekule Air Mini still works perfectly but the App needs to focus on consistent usability and then added features. If they did that the Molekule family would be really incredible. - Lastly, the cost of the Air Filters are something to consider. They are $75 a piece or $50 if you “Auto-Subscribe” through Molekule and last 6 months a filter. BOTTOM LINE: - I have used Air Purifiers in the past and none are as elegant as Molekule’s and none produce as clean of air. Molekule is not just filtering whats in the air, but killing it to with its PECO design. The upfront cost and filter replacement costs are above average but this is an above average Air Purifier which will have a noticeable impact!

Q: QuestionDoes it filter out VOCs?
Asked by Coneng.
- A:Answer Molekule claims that its technology destroys VOCs without re-releasing. I found it helpful to look at the info (includes some data and studies) on molekule.com website. Living in a condo building during pandemic, can smell chemical odors from neighbors’ cleaning/disinfecting products, DIY home projects. As a very chemically sensitive person, I can get dizzy, nauseous, headachey from these chemicals. Been using a Winix 5300-2 hepa air purifier that helped, but seems like Molekule Mini on full blast does a better and faster job of “cleaning” the air of these VOCs/odors. The downside is that the Molekule is loud above setting of 3. Sounds like a vacuum at level 5 (best to be in a different room/area if running at full blast). Could tell a difference in improved air quality (crisper, almost lighter air) with the Molekule even though had the Winix previously running 24/7. Ended up buying a second Molekule Mini. Company claims its air purifiers are effective against mold/mycotoxins, various allergens, viruses and bacteria (FDA-cleared as a type II medical device) and no ozone emission (believe it is CARB2 compliant). Some reviews reference bad filter odors, but personally have not had this experience.

Q: QuestionWhen I purchase the purifier is the filter automatically replaced and sent to me when six month cycle is done?
Asked by Carol.
- A:Answer Your filters are automatically after 6-months once you've registered your Air Mini and activate your Filter Auto-Refill Plan. From there, your replacement filters will be sent annually.

Q: QuestionDoes it filter out mold?
Asked by Aaron.
- A:Answer The info found on Molekule’s website claims that it does. Its filter can capture some particles and the PECO technology supposedly can kill/neutralize mold spores and mycotoxins. Bought Molekules mainly to address mold/mycotoxin issues caused by HVAC-related problem since my understanding is that HEPA-only air purifiers can only capture within a certain size but cannot kill/neutralize mold/mycotoxins.
