I have been a fan & collector of Harrison's for over 30 years now. I USED to be first in the door opening day for his films.
When I heard about this film & he was doing it I looked for to it. Thought he would do a great job & when they added Diane to the fix I knew that would be perfect.
They did do great jobs with their roles.
Let's go with the mistakes: Harrison had 2 films come out in 2010, this one and "Extraordinary Measures". BOTH FILMS HE WAS 2CD CREDITED INSTEAD OF FIRST. Here Oscar winner Diane was 3rd. Instead the film makers push Rachel McAdam’s as top billed. WRONG. The film was based on her INSTEAD OF AN EQUAL MIX WITH HER CHARACTER AND THE SHOW. Right from the beginning of the film her character was pushed down viewers throats. Did we really need to see a bit on her getting an apartment? Hands up for anyone who cared……
She can NOT put movie goers into theater seats. I have ONLY seen one of her prior films "State of Play" and I saw it because I am a fan of Russell’s. Yep, they used Harrison mostly to promote the film. OF COURSE HAN SOLO, INDIANA JONES, JOHN BOOK OSCAR NOMINATION WITH THAT, RICHARD KIMBLE, JACK RYAN, ETC & SO ON. Diane with her long award winning career & they used McAdam’s character to base the movie around.
I have nothing against Rachel BUT wrong film makers. USE THE STARS.
Film SHOULD have been a success & it was one of the mistakes that made it fail.
The music in the film was terrible. The "love story" was 100% unnecessary and did nothing but fill time.
Disappointing, SHOULD have been much better.
DVD. No good extras really & MY COMPLAINT I MAKE ALL THE TIME. HAS ONE OF THESE CHEAP DVD CASES WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES. CHEAP, CHEAP & CAN DAMAGE YOUR DVD. No chapter search list.
