      Cool artifacts in interesting places

4 of 5 stars for the adventure movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets. This is the second installment of the Benjamin Franklin Gates story. Same basic characters as NT1 but a whole new story. Same formula, follow clues to uncover treasure. Of course there are rival treasure hunter on the same quest. In this case, the rivals want to prevent Gates from being successful for purposes of hiding the truth about a historical event. This treasure hunt has lots of good action, some surprises and some way-out-yeah-right things (such as, kidnapping the President of the USA). A very well crafted story with some cool artifacts that all leads to a great ending. I do highly recommend this movie; fun to watch; kid friendly (its Disney) yet adult interesting. I do like Cage in this role and hope to see more NT movies. Voight is OK in his role but not as strong as Cage. This is a great Saturday afternoon pass-the-popcorn movie.

"I have never been one for sequels, but occasionally one sneaks up on you like a thief in night. It was fun, exciting, and most importantly, stayed true to the first film. Secret societies, codes, and mysterious locations are once again knocking on the Gates' front door with "NT; The Book of Secrets" As in the first film, Ben (Cage) is propelled into a fast paced adventure to unlock a centuries old quest to redeem his families name and shed light on a secret which could unravel the foundation of our nation and those who helped to shape it. If you're looking for a lighthearted film that is comparable to the magic created by films like "The Goonies", than this is for you. I own both on Blue Ray and eagerly await the next installment slated for release in 2010. Will be good to see them (the actors) together again."

      The Adventure's Continue!

This movie was alot like the original only the plot was way better and had alot more adventure. Riley was funnier too and the girl was hotter than in the last one. Alot of the stunts like sneaking into the queen's desk and the plot against the President are things that could never happen, of course, but it was exceptable to watch as it added to the excitment of the film. This movie had a better bad guy and the idea of bringing his parents along with him on his adventures was a funny twist. You would have to just see the movie to understand the humor and great excitment of it. Still alot of American history, which is allways a plus, and alot of clean cut humor also a plus making this an A-1 great part 2 type of movie.

This second installment is a fantastic addition! The story is all new yet ties to the first movie so it's almost like a continuation of the story. I love that all the original characters (played by the original actors) are still around. I hate it when there are replacement actors in sequels. The plot is interesting and the on screen chemistry between Jon Voight and Helen Mirren is hilarious! I love the combination of drama, suspense and comedy in a movie! This is a must buy for your DVD collection! The only scene that I feel slowed the movie was the scene in the water with Ed Harris.

I think that "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" was once again one of the greatest Disney films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite Disney films of all-time and was also a creative and original sequel to "National Treasure". I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama and a really great and amazing cast and personal storylines as well.

Nicolas Cage does a great job as the lead, Diane Kruger (minus the blond hair), so much reminds me of my dead wife of 66 years, does a fantastic job. The supporting cast couldn't do a better job. If I were making the movie the cutting room would be left out in the cold. What I'm saying why employee a fantastic director, screen writers, and the rest if the cutting room has so much to do with what we see on the screen. Great movie and I hope there will be more with the same crew!

      Worse than the first

I though the first Nat. Tres. was just ok and really didn't care to see the second one, but the wife wanted to get it anyway and on Blu-Ray no less. I'm sorry, but they were figuring out puzzles and clues WAY too easy in this movie. Even more so than the last one. The acting wasn't on point either and the special effects were just on a basic level. This was truly a kids movie, but the wife thought it was cute. Personally, I have to give it a thumbs down.
