Great lens for any of the Nikon Z series cameras
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This 24-70 is a nice upgrade from many f-mount Nikon versions. I purchased this one to replace my Tamron 24-70 G2. I didn't want to use the FTZ adapter anymore as another reason to get this. In regards to ease of use and quality it is top notch. The images come out sharp. The weight is a nice balance with the Z6ii with grip. There is a dedicated lens function button which is a nice addition for custom control. I'd highly recommend this to those who need shallow depth of field, weddings and portraits, work in low light.

The best Nikon lens I have ever owned!
Posted .I am a professional photographer who is currently using the Nikon D3s, D3x, and the Leica M8. I have looked at Sony, and Canon Mirror less and I decided to stay with Nikon; and I am glad that I did! This lens is tack sharp from corner to corner and the colors are awesome. Auto focus is spot on, and using the lens in manual mode is just fine as well. I have been using mirror less cameras for over 45 years with the venerable Leica M system with manual focus. This lens is right up there with my Leica Sumicron f2. Now my D3s will be my back up camera and the Nikon Z7 with the outstanding 24-70 2.8 S will be my primary camera.( with almost half the weight!) I am one happy customer!

Great lens for the Z system
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. My first native lens for the Nikon Z cameras. I previously used the FTZ adapter with my old F mount glass, but this is better. Obvioulsy less weight with no FTZ, but also less length. The native glass is SHARP. and focuses very well. This is the way to appreciate the Z cameras. I just wish it was less expensive

Q: QuestionIs it fit on Nikon D7100?
Asked by Alexeins.
- A:Answer No, this is a "Z" lens and so it only fits on the Nikon mirrorless digital cameras like the Z5, Z50, Z6, and Z7. There is a pretty good article called Best lenses for the 24-Mpix Nikon D7100. You can find it here: https://www.dxomark.com/best-lenses-for-the-24-mpix-nikon-d7100-telephoto-primes-and-zooms/

Q: Questionwhy does it says "Black"
Asked by gm.
- A:Answer The lens case is in all black (unlike some Canon lenses which are in a gray/off-white color). Also, some other high-end Nikon lenses (not the mirrorless Z mount lenses) have a gold ring around the end as a aesthetic touch (the high end Z lenses have no color to them other than black with white lettering).
