Great lens
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I was going to choose the non VR version of this lens but after purchasing this one I’m glad I got this. It’s the best lens in my bag and works well with my Nikon D850
I would recommend this to a friend- Pros mentioned:Sharp, Vibration reduction

Outstanding in all aspects!
||Posted .I was hesitant to buy this lens. It is definitely expensive at $2400, which makes it about twice the price of a Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC. I already own a 70-200mm f/2.8 Lens from Tamron, and the problem I was running into was that my Nikon D810 didn't recognize the difference between the two Tamron Lenses (It thought they were the same). So the auto-focus fine tuning, and calibration had to be changed any time I switched those lenses. Needless to say for professional work, that was not going to work. When I started reading reviews for this lens (granted it's only been out for about a month now)... people were giving it a hard time for it's price tag. Saying things like "It's not worth the upgrade from the old one..." and "VR isn't necessary at that focal length..." Well, let me tell you. I picked up this lens, after having tested 3 of the original 24-70mm lenses without the VR, and it is ABSOLUTELY worth the price difference. The auto-focus system is fast, and accurate. This lens is extraordinarily sharp at all focal lengths and apertures. The VR is EXCELLENT and allows for handheld shots at 1/5th of a second, even at 70mm. That's Crazy! I very frequently buy and return lenses because I'm picky... Very Picky... but this thing makes me actually say "This thing is spectacular" out loud every time I use it.

Q: QuestionHas anyone ever used this lens to take photos at racing events like NASCAR or Sprint Car races? Were photos tack sharp? What were your thoughts on using this lens for racing, sports photography? I already own the NIKON 70-200mm lens. Thanks!
Asked by Sam.
- A:Answer This is a " short telephoto/zoom lens. Yes you can use it for sports events, but you will need to get close if 70mm do not give you the " reach " you need for your photo. You really need to use a 70-200mm or larger for sports for the " long reach " from distance. Both lens come in 2.8 Fstop. The 24-70 is really fast focusing, but to really get the most from this " prime " lens, you really need at a minimum, a D610 full frame Nikon. I would get the D750, if you can still find one. This would be the best solution if you can't get a D850. That camera is a beast, nothing out there in its shooting range (D750), can beat its dynamic range/colors, sharpness. The real camera to really see the full potential of either the 24-70mm or the 70-200mm Nikon lenses, is the D850. That my friend, is the best DSLR available, not even the mirrorless cameras can match the D850, unless you have a Z9 mirrorless. Both are expensive.

Q: QuestionIs this a USA model or an imported model?
Asked by Webheadfred.
- A:Answer Best Buy say that this is a USA model. If it is not, they are required to tell you. Why? Because, even though the lens is a Nikon, it wasn't made for USA region. So there is no warranty for it or repair by Nikon. Lenses that aren't " authorized for sell by Nikon in the USA, are called Grey Market.

Q: QuestionHi, Is this compatible with Nikon D7200 ? and will I have aperture f/2.8 while zoom @70mm ?
Asked by Suresh.
- A:Answer It has a 2.8 aperture at all focal lengths and can close down from there to what is best for your picture. I don't know about the the D7200, sorry.
