Q: Does this fit a D610? I don't see that listed under the compatible models so I want to make sure.

Q: Is this a true 24 mm field of view? Do photos represent 24 mm?
A: The AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm lens, when used on a camera that has a full frame sensor, is 24mm. When used on a cropped sensor, it would be 38mm. Nikon denotes a full frame sensor as an FX-type body and the cropped sensor, as a DX-type body.
A: This is an excellent all around lens, 24mm is a substantial wide angle and 85mm zooms enough for portraits and other shots. It’s not too fast at 85mm, but for outdoors it’s great.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Lens has the widest ever zoom among the f/2.8 ones. The Nano Crystal Coat and the petal-shaped hood keep the flaring and ghosts far away! If you are searching for the broadest zoom for your Nikon cameras, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Lens could be the best choice for you. Thanks to the flexibility provided by a range of ultra-wide-angle focal lengths, It gives you the most comprehensive view from all sides so that you can capture the perfect frames. It is an ideal option for a wide range of occasions like nature photography, interior shoots, and portrait applications. Our Take on the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Lens: The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Lens design goes well with the FX-format sensors. However, it can also work fine with DX models, giving an equivalent focal length in the range of 21-36 mm. In addition to its wide angle of view, the lens is also distinguished by its f/2.8 constant maximum aperture, which provides consistent efficiency and illumination across the whole of the zoom range. It adds to the perfection of the result and renders the images more realistic. The diaphragm of the lens is constructed of nine rounded blades that offer a perfect circular bokeh with its useful out-of-focus characteristic. It also helps in providing a better output when working with a shallow depth of field. The autofocus feature is controlled by a Silent Wave Motor that gives a near-silent, smooth, and precise focusing. Also, there is a manual override function to use any time you require to focus manually for both still photography purposes or video capturing. The focus function works based on an internal focusing mechanism. It implies that only the lens groups will move inside, maintaining the overall external size of the lens unit, adding to greater convenience in using it. The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2

This lens is very sharp. Especially stopped down to F8. The VR allows for handheld shots down to 1/3 shutter speed. I've even got a few sharp images at 1/2 second. Distortion is easily corrected in photoshop when shooting at 24mm. Despite not having a very wide aperture, it's a nice walking around lens that delivers sharp photos at a fraction of the price. The VR helps with low light situations and at night with a tripod stopped down to f8 delivers beautiful contrast pictures.

Nikon - AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR Standard Zoom Lens - Black This is an amazing lens for a full frame Nikon. I was looking for a general 'walk around lens' for my Nikon Df and was disappointed with the photo quality from Sigma and Tamron. Nikon had a couple offerings and this seemed to fit my needs. I have had this lens for almost two month and have shot close to two thousand images thru it and am completely happy. The auto focus is super fast and exposure is spot on. I have only one issue and it is a minor one. This lens is not as fast as I would like thus the depth of field is not as shallow but like I said this is a walking around lens that I keep on at all time. If I am wanting shallow depth of field I can plan on using a faster prime lens.

This lens was part the D800E package that I bought and couldn't be happier. Can't wait to get additional lenses.
