Good camera with some small limitations.
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This is a good camera overall, and is great for folks who want a "pocket size" camera for general photography. Pictures are clear and the videos are nice. It is not a "low light" camera, although I have taken many good pics indoors during concerts and they come out good. Video is good, but sometimes the focusing doesn't catch up when zooming; a problem with a lot of smaller inexpensive cameras. For some strange reason, the tripod "socket" is off to the side and not in the middle. A big plus (for me) is that I can shoot video and stills at the same time; something not found on most cameras. It also shoots panoramas. Overall, this is a nice small camera that has many features on it that only come in cameras that are larger and more expensive. There are better cameras out that, but you will pay three times as much for them.

My Coolpix Upgrade
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This Nikon replaces my old Coolpix S8100 but with all the advantages of a bridge camera, such as RAW shooting, MACRO, and EVF [small]. The size of the camera works perfectly for me because it is easily portable, and the zoom capability is sufficient. Photos are beautiful on sunny days, and those taken on an overcast day were surprisingly sharp. However, I found that shooting in complete shade is to be avoided. I have not explored all the possibilities the A1000 offers, but I am very pleased with my choice and look forward more great shots.

Great small camera and excellent as travel camera!
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Great small camera with excellent zoom and picture quality. Tried a a similar Canon and Sony cameras that took pictures that had a lot of pixelation... not this camera. I also have an outstanding Nikon P900 for additional zoom capability. Below pictures show free-hand moon shots taken with the A1000 and P900 cameras... both look excellent and show the zoom capability. Definitely highly recommend this camera above the other brands at this price point.

Phenomenal Point + Shoot Camera
||Posted .Owned for 6 months when reviewed.I love this camera. One of the best options you can make if you do not want to carry a DSLR. Takes amazing shots of people and landscapes. I take amazing sports shots too. The Bluetooth function works great so I can instantly transfer to my phone to post to social media.

Nikon A1000
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Love this camera. You will need a tripod or some other form of stability when zoomed all the way out, which by the way is great. Bought it as a back up and when I didn't want to carry my other cameras. Compact but powerful. Easy to use. Never had a problem with it. It was stolen when I didn't take it with me one time. I will be buying another one.

Read the manual
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Previous Nikon Coolpix owner. This new one has a lot more features and it is advisable to download the users manual and understand the features. I must have missed out on a number of photos that I didn't take because of not knowing about the camera.

Great point and shoot choice
||Posted .Coming from a Canon product and the only thing I really don't like about this unit is WiFi downloading of photos. I just take the card out and stick in my card reader and it transfers flawlessly that way. Picture quality is decent, controls and functions are easy enough to use. The Canon was better for WiFi functionality but I had other issues with it that this one solved.
