This camera is one heck of a deal!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I start this particular review, I'd first like to state that I'm a novice when it comes to the photography realm. My primary purpose for this camera is to take it around the globe on my travel adventures. I decided that it was time to get a "big boy" camera and after researching the past few months, I decided on the d3200. I've only had it a month, but thus far this camera is a GIANT LEAP FORWARD from my Sony Cybershot. The manual and overall operating system for the camera are completely user-friendly and I've been able to navigate just fine through the various settings, modes, etc. I've only used it to photograph my Siberian Husky in various settings, but plan to use it on a trip to Thailand next month. I shall update the review when I come back. And if the shots of my Husky are any indicator, I'm more than pleased at the results of this camera. While the model may not have all the bells and whistles with the basic lens that accompanies it, you can always graduate to a better one in the future. Do yourself a favor and check this bad boy out. It's definitely worth it!

It's top notch.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never had a really good camera before. This is fantastic. Easy to use. With 24.3 megapixels, you get great quality reproductions. I have been taking pictures of Victorian buildings in downtown Dubuque (which has many) and making 8X10s of them. They are all unbelievable. I would recommend this camera to anyone.

Honestly the best camera ever.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything about this camera is awesome. The shutter sound is a bit loud but that does not bother me one bit. I love how user friendly it is, with it's guide function and suggestive features that assist you when shooting in certain settings. The images are very detailed and lifelike, great quality. I absolutely adore my Nikon D3200. You will too!

Great first DSLR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Taking pictures has always been a hobby of mine, but this is the first DSLR camera. It has been easy to use from the moment that I took it out of the box. I have taken so many pictures in the short time that I've had it just trying out both lenses and to see what all it can do. I've been impressed with the picture qualilty and how easy it is to use!

Good camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Also good service from the BB sales rep who pointed out I'd do better buying this one than a bundled sale for less $$ as the 'free' lens didn't have the wobble protection. Good advice is why I go back. Now if BB would only put the 40mm Macro lens on sale!!! I have almost enough gift card $$ for it, HINT HINT Photos taken with this camera

This is a great camera for professionals
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon opening, I was able to start using the camera with very minimum set up time. The camera is very easy to use and is a great camera for any professional or anyone trying to become a professional photographer.

Entry DSLR that works well.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the urge to get back to SLR photography, did some research and decided this was my starting point. I have taken 500 or so photos, kept some and learned from the others. I added the 35 mm prime lens and the 200 zoom lens to my equipment...they have added a lot to my enjoyment. The camera is so good for newer users because it has a guide function you can use and make good pictures without even reading the manual. Then as you learn more, you can begin using manual settings, and experiment with light and exposure. Photography is not a simple science when you want to be artistic, but this camera makes it possible to do high quality pics easily while learning some basics of photographic science!

Great camera for novice and beginning professional
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my D40X due to wear! I had removed the writing and markings on the top of the camera from using so much mosquito spray and not cleaning my hands before using the camera. I hated that, because the D40X is a great camera. However this one, the D3200 is very similar and I was able to use it quickly! I would recommend this camera to anyone.

Q: QuestionWhich is better the Nikon 3100 or Nikon 3200?I was about to order the Nikon 3100 after it was highly recommended by friends that have it and then all of a sudden I just noticed there is an updated version in the 3200. I am a little afraid to get something no one I know has but it seems more updated. Just wondering if 3200 is better than 3100?
Asked by Betty.
- A:Answer I have the d3200 and it is a great camera! I love the guide that helps me take professional looking photos as a beginner. I cannot speak for the d3100, but the 3200 has more megapixels and a guide for learning. My photos are amazing. I did purchase an additional 70-300 mm lens, but even the one it comes with is great. I just wanted to take pictures of nature that was further away.

Q: Questionwhat is the difference between vr lens and zoom lensI see different deals online, some deals say VR lens and others like best buy says zoom lens, what is the difference?
Asked by Chand.
- A:Answer Nikon's VR (Vibration Reduction) technology is an exciting feature which allows sharp photographs to be taken when the camera cannot be held perfectly still. Some lenses including zoom and telephoto's have it built in while others do not.

Q: QuestionAlertsIs there a way to sign up for alerts telling when the Nikon camera goes on sale? I am rather interested in buying (as a college student) but not at the current price.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Short answer: no. But keep reading and I'll explain why in this case it doesn't matter. :) This is something you won't learn directly from Best Buy itself and you have to dig across the internet to find it, but Nikon products are subject to a, "Minimum advertised price." That is to say, their price is regulated by Nikon. Any Nikon dealer will have the same price (or very close to it, within a few dollars), and if you don't purchase from a genuine Nikon dealer, you will not have a warranty. As a new camera that is quite in demand, I wouldn't expect it to drop in price, even with a temporary sale (which, as mentioned, doesn't happen), through at least the end of the year. Nikon DSLRs don't go, "On sale," they simply get price-reduced as time goes on. The best you can hope for is to get a bundle with an additional lens, and for those, the prices change monthly in accordance with the Nikon dealer agreements (the September prices just went into effect). If you'd like the D3200, I'd also check out the D5100 or D3100, both of which are less expensive. The D3200's resolution is so high that it's beyond the resolving power of the lens it comes with, so if you really want to take advantage of the camera, you'll need to start with some more exotic glass, such as the 16-85 mm lens (which I've linked) anyway, which will increase your price even more. The D5100 has more advanced features, including additional ISO steps and more sophisticated control and remote features, and slightly better dynamic range than the D3200, plus a twisting LCD, but lacks the super high resolution. The D3100 has lower dynamic range and high ISO performance and a slightly slower continuous drive speed, but it still takes fantastic images and is a real bargain at the price it's at.

Q: QuestionWhich camera is better? Also basically whats the difference between the two?I have done research on the Canon - EOS Rebel T3i 18.0-Megapixel DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens. Which I really like but this camera the Nikon - D3200 24.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Zoom Lens looks like it is also a good deal, but i dont know much about nikon and need help.
Asked by URAJoke19.
- A:Answer Both are good cameras as far as construction, weight and functionality. Either will give great results. Mega-pixels over 12 to 16 are personal preference moslty. The larger the megapixel the larger the picture you can print with clairty. Decent ISO range on both. Both are capable of HD 1080p video recording. The D3200 can shoot 4 frames per second in continuous mode. I am a nikon shooter and have been for years so I tend to lean that way. The biggest difference will be in the lens quality. Nikon has superior glass (in my opinion). I bought the D3200 as a back up for my D7000. I am very pleased with the output quality. It has several manual and auto modes (fewer than the D7000 of course). Its a great starter camera for learning to shoot in manual mode.

Q: QuestionHow quickly can you take pictures?I'm wondering how quickly you can take pictures with this camera. I barrel racing this summer and am looking for a camera that can keep up with the runs and get some good action shots. Lots of actions shots in 25 seconds or less.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Frame Rate of the D3200 is 4 frames per second. Technically, you should be able to take up to 100 shots in 25 seconds

Q: QuestionLensesAre there other compatible lenses for this camera? Ex can you use lenses from a D90 with this model?

Q: Questionwhat kind of nikon battery grip will fit for this camera?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Nikon does not produce or manufacture a battery grip for either the Nikon D3100 or D3200. There are aftermarket grips that work well though and use up to 2 batteries. The only caveat is there is a small external cord that connects from the battery grip to the camera to use the vertical battery pack shutter.
